Spoiler:
Note - quite a number of these picks are predicated on where I think players will be selected, and thus to what team, which is a HUGE factor for me in success. In a vacuum I'd have Marvin Bagley above Wendell Carter for example, but all indications are he's going to one of the worst situations in the league in the Kings. I may even have Bagley too high for that reason alone and also because there are some huge flaws in his game - but his outlier offensive game will at least mean he's a premier garbage man who will put up some great stats, albeit not contribute that much to winning.
This is also the reason why I have Mitchell Robinson in the top 15 despite him not playing any college ball; its obvious from the tape around that he has better defensive instincts than someone like Mo Bamba and he could well end up be slightly better on that end as a shot blocker than JJJ. Its also extremely likely he will fall to a great situation, ie the Warriors, or heavens forbid, the Celtics (cringe), but if Bamba were on those teams I would be much much higher on his possible outcome compared to where I have him listed here. Those franchises are clearly doing something right in terms of player development - alternately if Robinson were on a bad team I could well see him out of the league in three years.
Guys like Okobo, Okogie, Trent Jr, Huerter, Melton, these are guys that are going to get into decent situations, a few of them into great ones, so this is basically why I have them higher than consensus compared to most, plus the fact I like their games. Melton for example has a good argument for being the best defender in the draft. There are thus a few notable absentees, so Sexton I would have had late teens normally but if he goes to the Knicks for example, that's a recipe for disaster in my eyes.
I've also removed Porter Jr from my board altogether, this is not only because of the injury situation but also because he's a vegan and seemingly won't be able to play in a team situation that well if recent comments he's made are correctly quoted. This means I bumped up a few players a spot as a result, as I had him top 8 previously.
FYI I really wanted to find spots for guys like Hervey, Spellman and Melvin Frazier, the first two because of their shooting and the latter because of the 3 and D potential/ridiculous athleticism, but couldn't fit them in.

Small elaboration on each ranking:
Spoiler:
Tier 1 1. Luka Doncic Wing with ability to dribble, shoot off the dribble and not be a massive liability on the defensive end. More upside than consensus thinks due to possible improvement of athleticism.
2. Jaren Jackson DPOY upside, can stretch the floor on offense, punish poor closeouts but not an offensive creator.
Tier 2 3. Deandre Ayton Will put up big numbers, high volume with meh efficiency if wrongly used. Excellent rim runner and has the feet and length to not be a liability in the play offs.
4. Miles Bridges Wing with frame to switch onto bigs and has the ability to shoot off the dribble and screens. Ultra valuable in modern NBA.
5. Trae Young Best offensive player in the draft. 3PT% not indicative of shooting ability, in combination with ability switch gears with the ball and passing/vision he has Curry/Lillard upside offensively. Defensive liability.
6. Wendell Carter Can shoot, playmaker out of post by shooting, fake DHO's and passing and punish mismatches. Defensively often in right position, not a fantastic perimeter defender at this point, but has some upside if he improves technique (better feet than advertised imo).
7. Mo Bamba High floor, low ceiling for me. Think he'll be a good rim protector but lack the vision, anticipation and toughness to be elite on that end. Solely as a rim runner, dunker á la Tyson Chandler he could be really valuable in low usage role, but he probably sees himself more as a creator.
8. Chandler Hutchison Aside from Doncic only wing with legit size that has primary/secondary creation upside
9. Josh Okogie Disapointing size for a wing, but makes up for an excellent frame and wingspan. If he alters his set point slightly I think there's a ton of improvement with his off the ball shooting. Two-way player with upside on the offensive end.
Tier 3 10. Marvin Bagley Very small chance he improves his handle/or becomes a good 3pt shooter and therefore has 2nd/3rd option upside. If not, high TS% and OREB creator with some switching ability and limited rim protection.
11. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Best fit as a secondary creator, capable C&S shooter but not good enough off the dribble to become a top 15 PG. Sound on defensive end, but frame prevents him from elite defensive upside.
12. Mikal Bridges Great C&S shooter, capable off screens eventually and really sound as a defender. However just good on both ends and not great due to lack of dribbling/physicality and twitch.
13. Zhaire Smith Good PoA defender, frame to switch onto smaller 4's and has underrated dribbling and passing abilities. Slow shooting motion limits his offensive upside, but in ceiling outcome he can become secondary playmaker.
14. Kevin Huerter Great shooter off movement, while having size and some handles. I like his ability to navigate through screens, but worry a bit about his lack of length and physicality. Shooting threat alone makes him valuable in any offense.
15. Michael Porter High upside if realizes what his limitations are, however I fear he'll be a high usage poor efficient forward. Really depends on destination, as a stretch 4/5 extremely valuable offensively. Has to embrace physicality and lower usage role in the NBA. Don't like him as a wing.
