Another Kyle Korver? Looks like a 3pt specialist to me.

I think he's got a chance after a couple years in the G-league. I think once you distill his role down to a catch and shoot guy instead of the psuedo-PG he played at SMU and have him expend more energy on defense you might have a guy that can be a part of a bench mob.

Yeah he looked a long way from it at the combine, but we always knew they'd target shooting. The guy I thought they might take was Trent Jr because of the pedigree/knocks on other prospects of the same type but Shamet and Shake are quite OK IMO.

Obviously there were guys I had graded higher but they were after a particular archetype with these later picks, obviously the later you get the much worse the chances a guy will be valuable so I'm OK with taking a swing on someone who already has the qualities you are after.

The exact opposite of JP Tokoto, I wouldnt trust Tokoto to shoot a three on a double size ring. Milton has consistently been a great three point shooter in his three years. Obviously, Milton isn't the athlete that Tokoto is either.

Wish we had him locked in on the multiyear rookie contract instead.

Lights out shooter - seems to be more comfortable shooting off the dribble/PnR or catch and shoot; from the admittedly few videos i saw, he didnt seem too comfortable curling off screens a la Reddick.
Good IQ and assist rate should bode well for Brett's offense.
Not an imposing athlete but the 7' wingspan could mean a nice 1-3 defender if he pans out.
Pretty solid pick up for that late in the draft - glad they traded 56 and 60 to grab him.

We very well could if we miss out on LeBron or move guys like TLC/Holmes to be able to dip into cap space to sign him for more than 2 years.

Shake Milton is a superior offensive talent to Mikal Bridges. The lack of explosiveness must make teams think he can't translate. That's the only thing I can think of, that can explain him going #54.

I noticed that Shake worked out against Lonnie Walker and Miles Bridges when he visited the 76ers. He must have shown something in those workouts against those guys.

If Milton is a knockdown shooter at this level, then we got an absolute steal. We talked about attacking close outs, his passing ability opens up the opportunities to score immensely. I am hoping his length distrupts the passing lanes a la Cov.

I didn't watch the combine, but I read he went 0 for 12. I guess they think he can't shoot against NBA level talent, because of that performance. I wish I had watched now.

Everything in predraft said this guy just don't have the athleticism when put up against the better players in the draft. I'm a little worried about him panning out. Doubt he makes it.

I was really bummed that we didn't grab DeAnthony Melton. We might end up regretting that.

He seems like he has Caris Levert like potential to me. And he has more court awareness.

There is no sense worrying about a player picked 54th in the draft panning out, or not. They almost NEVER do at that point. The best that we can hope for is that he is one of the rare exceptions.

Milton may not be a great athlete, but his absurd 7 foot wingspan is the ultimate equalizer in terms of margin for error.

I like that we have a whole bench of options. We just need a couple out of Milton, Shamet, Anderson, TLC, Korkmaz, and Zhaire Smith to pan out.

Thats why you need to actually draft with lots of draft pick and not sell them. God, I'm so happy that POS Colangelo is gone.

It'll be interesting to see if Shake makes the roster considering how full the boat already is. Wouldn't be surprised if we ended up signing him to a 2-way contract.

Was never a massive fan of Milton, seemed like a good system player but never impressed me. Saw just one game of him this year (against Boise State) and was once again solid, but nothing more.

However, his stats this year were absolutely magnificent. A 60.6 TS% on a 25.0 USG%, in combination with a 25.9 AST% and a very low 13.3 TOV%. 42.7% on nearly 450 threes in his college career is way better than I expected and he increased his FTr this year to .403 while upping his FT% to 84.7%.
Defensively he racks up rebounds, steals (2.4 STL%) and blocks (2.3 BLK%) for a guard, while being 6'6''and having a 7'0'' wingspan.

If you dive deeper into his offensive stats via Synergy there are three flaws in his game at the moment. Being a scorer in P&R situations and transition are the two things that prevent him from being a PG in the NBA imo. He's not explosive enough to create separation with the ball in his hands and score against length around the rim.

The third flaw is his shooting off screens, which is something he should work on if he wants to succeed in the league. Being a standstill shooter massively limits your value in the NBA as a shooter, since defenders don't have to chase you and therefore it limits your effectiveness as a floor spacer.

The other stats are just absolutely mindblowing good. He's an insanely good shooter off the catch (98th percentile) and when he gets a headstart via a hand off his TOV% drastically reduces and therefore his PPP increases (1.238 versus 0.708 as a P&R BH). His passing numbers out of the P&R are great by the way, at least capable of making the right decision when attacking closeouts.

This kid is an advanced stats darling and you'd think this guy has superstar potential if you had never seen him play.

I hope he can add weight to his frame so that the Sixers can use him as a wing instead of a ball handling guard. He might develop into a low usage, great efficiency guy with the right development.

An argument can be made that Milton might be the best option to start at SG, given that he possesses a strong combination of shooting/defense. He just has to prove that he can compete, athletically.
