Philly.com forum refugees

Post#1 » by TFK » Fri Jun 22, 2018 5:26 pm

I'm not sure this topic is ok here, but...

As some of you may know, Philly.com is shutting down its forums in about a week and moving to a pay to read articles/comment format. Not surprisingly, most of the long-time posters on the Sixers forum are looking for life elsewhere, and obviously this site is a popular alternative destination.

So, I offer this thread to welcome any new Philly.com refugees and perhaps discuss the basics of this forum, the pros/cons, maybe let everyone know who you were in your past life on Philly.com, etc.

I posted on their forum years ago, but when i found Realgm i was hooked. Always a bummer, thought, when a place you invest time at closes up!

Great idea on the thread, and welcome to new posters!

Those were the days.

What ever happened to The Guilty Party? Did he migrate over to the Philly.com boards?

I used to post there for years in the early 2000’s, then I moved to the Espn forums which imploded, and then finally here which is by far the best NBA discussion that I have ever found.

I honestly forget my old usernames at this point though.

Welcome to the forums.

Hoping Bearsfriend joins. I liked his posts, always thoughtful and with good points.

I posted there for years as well. (Different name)

I am sad to see it go they were pretty open minded to criticism of the local team. They are little thin skinned here and take negative posts about the team as trolling but there are some very knowledgeable fans here.

Delaware River Rat guy was pretty funny.

I forget my username there, I think it was Moe Greene there too. I was banned a couple years back.

yeah, i think ph.c lost a number of long time posters a couple of years ago when the site went through a a painfully incremental remod. still entertaining, but maybe a full notch below the consistency it had before. still sorry to see it go.
