That Batum contract is brutal. 2 more years after this at 25M per.

Wouldn’t be surprise if Butler walks and Brett gets desperate and trades for him.

I mean, am I the only one who wouldn't mind another Kings trade here?

Something like Batum, Bridges, Monk, 2019 1st unprotected, 2020 pick swap, and 2021 1st unprotected for Butler and Chandler?

I don’t see the Hornets doing that, I would be interested in.

I'm starting to think D'Angelo Russell has turned the corner. If they can make it work with LeVert, Dinwiddie, and Russell, the Nets are going to be a thorn in our side over the next few years. They need to figure out that defense though.

Let's! so we can field a lineup with TJ as PG, Fultz as SG, MCW as SF, Simmons as PF, Amir as C. The league is not ready for a four non-shooting PG lineup.

Throw Embiid out there instead of Amir and youve got the last 5 players to have a triple double in a Sixers uniform

Lets pretend we are able to trade TJ for a 1st round pick. Would you bring back MCW on the vet min to play as the backup PG? He knows Brett and the system.....

Memphis in a complete freefall lately. Not sure their pick conveys this year. They are one injury away from almost guaranteeing that.
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:

Lowry/Melton/Payne
Maxey/Hield/Downtin
Oubre/Batum/Council
Harris/Covington/Martin
Embiid/Reed/Bamba

Tony Wroten knows the system too and he is a PG. Maybe we should sign him also.

The fall looked even worse than the initial elbow. I'm surprised and relieved plays like that don't happen more often.

Sign me while they are at it. I am a scrub who can't shoot too.

The Celtics (like us to be honest) just can't seem to get into the next gear (maybe after the all-star break) it appears.
Pretty mediocre and they show you also can have to many weapons, especially when most of those weapons aren't All-star calibre players.

Their second best player up til now seems to be Marcus Morris (contract year)

Tatum has evolved more into a (very) high-end role player to me, than an All-star (although I can see him become one some day).

Celtics will be fine as they have already proven themselves capable of beating good teams

We’ve hardly beaten anyone of note

The Josh Jackson/Melton/Bridges trio in Phoenix is worth tracking as a defensive unit. The Suns certainly need D from supporting players because of Booker and Ayton, though the latter definitely has the physical tools to become a good defender at some stage.

I'm not really comparing them too us.
But they lost again (to Orlando) now and Kyrie seems to be getting a bit anoyed.

I'm just not that convinced he's a lock to sign with them this summer, especially if the Celtics don't come out of the eastern conference.

He's maybe not the smartest person on earth, but he also will realize his 2 best sidekicks are getting older. And another important one is free agent, as is his back-up.

Temperature is really starting to rise on Luke Walton and they are coming up to a brutal stretch.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him fired before the end of the month

LeBron has basically admitted this year is a wash, so other than being in LA, don't think the heat should be on. Now, if Bron doesn't like Luke and wants to install his own guy? Then sure, this could be the excuse.

Chicago is trying to acquire at least a second round pick for Lopez's $14 million expiring contract.

Just give them Chandler and a second round pick already.

Don't think that anyone will give them a high second for Lopez and his 14 million contract (which means 95% of the teams need to add an expiring matching salary).

I don't care what they leak to the press, they'll buy him out after the deadline. Would be dumb to force one of the nicest guys in the league and a true professional to stay for the remainder of the season.

So the only reason why we should give up a rotation player (albeit it's a bad one) and a second rounder is if we feel we don't have a chance in the buyout market. Which is a legitimate concern.

If lopez is bought out, there is a high chance that he will sign with the warriors considering their depth on centers. And we should not rely on buyout season thinking we will sign players like Ilyasova and Belinelli again. If the price is just a second round pick and Chandler just to even out the salaries, then go for it. Waiting for the buyout season to start might cost us a seed or two. It also might cost us an injury to Embiid, which we are currently running to the ground with the minutes he's been playing. We need every home court advantage we can get.
