In a heartbeat.
The fit with Embiid is still poor, but Zion is a generational prospect that you can't pass up on.

Simmons and salary for Bradley Beal is the move to make, this summer.

This would also make it easier to justify re-signing Jimmy as the PG. Assuming he's okay with being the 3rd option.

Putting aside the Simmons vs. Beal debate, we don't really have salary to move this summer. I don't think it's even possible unless you renounce guys like Redick, Harris, and Butler, which just adds to the cost of the trade.

5 years from now, will fans hate the Markelle Fultz trade or the Tobias Harris trade more?

Fultz, and it won't be close even if Harris walks and Shamet becomes good player.the_process wrote:5 years from now, will fans hate the Markelle Fultz trade or the Tobias Harris trade more?

The Sixers really need to test the market on Ben Simmons.

I wouldn't bet on that.

Ben Simmons was the best player in the 2016 draft, but in hindsight, I wish we traded back and took Jamal Murray.
These all-around guys that can't carry a scoring load and can't play off the ball are not practical. Your best players need to be scorers.

If we can go back in time... send Ben and Chandler and a lotto protected 1st to SA for Kawhi and Danny Green.

I still don't know if I'd do that. Kawhi has been a Clipper lock for two years now. I'd want to use Ben in a trade for a longterm piece.

Also Zion cares, and cares a lot about the game, you know he has great work ethic, he improved his shot greatly in college, and plays very hard, he is nothing like Simmons.
I believe he is a better talent than Embiid, but time will tell. He is not as bad of a fit with Embiid as Simmons is, because Zion can score much much better at half court, he is not just a transition player.
Great takes since 2024-04-20

Also Zion doesn't need to have the ball all the time, and will actually shoot jumpers.

Sixers had a better chance to keep Kawhi than the Raptors ever did. And they ended up taking their chances on Butler, and then again on Harris anyway. Could've lived with watching Ben squirm all year long as Pop calls him out on everything.

I'd consider a Simmons for Davis rental if Ben is gonna continue to be a huge liability on offense.

Shamet looks like he will be a good player but I doubt his ceiling is anything more than a 14-15 PPG guy, good shooter at best.

If Embiid has any other setbacks, they won't be able to flip Simmons. Instead they'll be building around him.

What is the worst pick you would be ok with the 76'ers trading 24+33+34+2019 1st for?
9? 5? 14?
9? 5? 14?
7/1/2019

Unless a specific player fell during the draft, I wouldn't trade up in this draft. This is a bad draft to be 3-10. There are players that are being 'mocked' in the 2nd round, that I like better than half of the 'consensus' top 10.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
That seems more like an NFL draft day trade.
There are like 15-18 guys that wind up as worthy NBA players in a typical draft. Nobody is trading out of the lotto for a handful of picks that each have a much smaller pan-out rate.
