NBA analysts talking bout the trade have called him an average to slightly-above-average defender. Solid, not a lot of steals, blocks, or deflections. Good at being in the right position. Probably a little better than 2019 Chandler, maybe a lot like Chandler was 2-3 years ago.

With this trade the Sixers have the best starting unit in the East. If they make the Finals this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they put up a hell of a fight. Warriors in 5.

Let's get through round 1 before predicting the finals. They are much better, but let's see how well and how quickly they gel.

Harris has increased his free throw rate this year significantly without a big increase in utilization. Wonder what's changed in his game. Small sample size but I think there's reason to believe his game is still evolving.

His increase in FT% is a good indicator that his increase in 3P% is real. Butler is an example of that.

Isolation drives.

He's been assisted on 51% of his 2pt field goals for his career. This year, he's assisted on just 34%.

Pretty ridiculous how he's managed to raise his true shooting to 60% despite significantly increasing his unassisted bucket getting.

Harris is lowkey an elite offensive player at the moment.

Kevin Pelton grades this deal as E+?

I dont see it at all.

Ive always seen Carmelo Anthony in him TBH.

Rich mans jason Tatum

I agree.

I know Celtics fans think that they have a new Paul Pierce or Kobe in Tatum, but I see a lot of similarities between Harris and Tatum.

With Tatum having more defensive potential.

Who’s better between Tobias Harris and Otto Porter? Porter is an analytics darling

If Carmelo were less of a chucker and actually efficient.

And was a much better shooter from 3.

ivysixer2000 wrote:Well I do like the trade, only cause we have a legit chance of keeping 4 stars now. I don't think Harris would've came here, now we have a chance......btw I don't know why Middleton is even being mentioned, I don't think there is any chance he leaves the Bucks at all.

There is alot of talent on this team and now, the pressure is solely on Brett to make it work. Sure he was there for the process, but I will say I wish he had a couple more seasons of development.

Like him or don't like him, we have no choice but to ride this roller coaster. But the honest truth is if Brett can't make it work, Harris and Jimmy walk......we have to start all over again.

Brand has put the weight and pressure of the organization squarely on Brett, question is, is he ready and can he handle it.

I'm more worried about Brett than any of the players as of right now.

Brett has to make it work for sure, but that doesn’t mean this year. These guys should be resigned, and Brett should really be expected to make it work with a full offseason, and full year next year.

There isn’t enough time this year for a completely fair shake.

1.) is Tobias better than Porter? We could not give up firsts for Porter.
2.) what good is having a guy on contract or RFA when he can demand to go out and not play for his team with a weird made up injury

I watched some Carmelo in his prime clips. Yeah I can see what you mean.

Watch this clip from 1:50 onwards to see what I mean. Small sample I know.

I don't think OPJ is better than Tobias but it's closer than people think. OPJ is an elite 3+D player and would have been a perfect fit here.

I'd rather have OPJ at 2yr/55mil and our draft picks over Tobias at 5yr/190 mil.

Isn't Otto Porter just a more expensive Robert Covington?
Less streaky shooter, but also less shooter.

Think Harris is way better as an offensive weapon. Porter is indeed a better defender I guess, but don't think Harris is that bad either.
