If the sixers were interested or not we would not know it,brand keeps things very quiet.

That’s how it should be, you don’t need the publics view on how you do your job.

Get this dude on a hinkie special contract right now to make up for losing Korkmaz this summer.
After Covington, I love churning through these guys. Hard to tell tho. A guy like Hollis Thompson who didn’t make it, seems way more talented than this guy, but I never can predict who can translate.

Any word on Markieff? We really need some reinforcements on our bench.

Re: Buyout Market
Options dwindling badly for a bench guard/wing... anyone know what JR Smith is up to lately? I imagine he's better than Kork/Ennis/Simmons.

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he avoids Philly just because of his twin bond with Marcus.Arsenal wrote:Any word on Markieff? We really need some reinforcements on our bench.

Re: Buyout Market
Why do people want Markieff? We already have a decent big in Jonah getting DNPCD's. Have you guys seen the bench wings we've been trotting out?

Jesus. How bad is it that I agree with getting JR?

Markieff is ALOT better then Bolden.
Bolden is not ready for consistent minutes on a winning team....especially offensively.

That's fine. He's probably not even better than Mike Scott though.
I'm not going to be mad by any means if we got Morris but the #1 and #2 priorities by far should absolutely be getting servicable wings/guards.

Re: Buyout Market
Doesn’t feel like the Sixers had a lot of interest in the buyout market.
I wonder if it’s Joshua Harris related. Maybe he told them if he’s gonna shell out two max contracts in the summer, then he’s not gonna pay for buyouts also.

Re: Buyout Market
Starting to look like they have a (irrational) belief in the dudes they traded for pre deadline and TJ. No other logical conclusion at this point.
I'm not buying in on that decision, at least not yet. I'm pretty sure we aren't going to even get to the big show while playing TJ, Ennis and Scott real rotation minutes.

Re: Buyout Market
I need to go back and revisit the deadline thread...I seem to remember at least 1 or 2 posters telling me trading assets would be a waste because we’d have our choice of a bunch of talent on the buy out market.
Is it sad that I think TJ and Boban are the best 2 off the bench? Ennis, Scott and Simmons are all extremely average players. I don’t think we should be content with those guys at all

I don't get why they haven't moved yet in the buyout market but maybe they are waiting for someone else to shake free. It is quite possible that Morris did NOT want to play here and go against his brother. Who knows. All I know is Bolden should be playing over Boban in most situations.

Re: Buyout Market
Our bench is straight trash compared to our Eastern Conference rivals. It WILL be the reason we get knocked out in the 2nd round. Makes zero sense to claim to go ALL-IN and accelerate our timeline now, and at the same time do nothing to improve our bench while almost all of our main competitors are loading up.

its not trash compared to other teams below the Sixers but compared to the top of the conference, its trash. Guess we will see what wins, the best starting 5 or the best bench.

I was on board with the Harris trade assuming Brand wasn't this stupid. The bench is still god-awful, probably worse than before. There's legitimately not even a single player on the bench that's deserving of extended minutes on a championship squad, and we're rolling out a full group. Couldn't add a single competent guard. Couldn't add Ross instead of Simmons. If we're going to try to win it now, build a strong bench.
