This team is going to be a problem for the foreseeable future. Lonzo and Holiday will get Zion decent looks around the basket.

Zion be used as modern day Amare
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

This is the "fun phase" for Zion right now.
With that said, I can't help but project later on and be concerned with the 0-2 from three and 4-7 free throw shooting. That's not going to cut it. Down the line when Pelicans games start to matter, he'll get crushed by the media and fans with performances like that.

That’s honestly the comp I’ve felt most comfortable with for him. Let’s hope his knees don’t crumble like Amare.

Ehh. Likely better defender. Worse shooter.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I may have to eat my words on RJ Barrett by the end of the year. He doesn't look half bad out there. He's not good defensively, but he looked competent, offensively.

gonna enjoy watching the bulls. so many guys i've wanted over the years as role players for us. no star at the center, so they're no threat to us but i'd love seeing them make the playoffs. gafford, carter jr, porter jr, satoransky, dunn. i even wanted zach with the #10 back in the day. next to ben, itd' be like if jj redick could fly. dont hate markannen or white either. but if they could move them for a four? pistons are going to be horrible, i think. with no future in sight. blake in markannen's spot could set them off. intra-division though. doubt the sixers would listen, but the bulls should be coming after tobias harris. wendell carter is the key. if he can stay healthy, they're going to be pretty good.

predicting kat refuses extension forces trade, pelicans give up all the picks and players they got for anthony davis. no scored with naw and jackson hayes, two guys the wolves should desire. lonzo ball. pelicans have three starting pgs, wolves arguably have none. jrue holiday, jj redick, bingram, zion williamson, karl anthony towns.

You didn't expect him to be able to get buckets and pass? That was pretty much guaranteed to translate.
It's his inability to play off the ball, hit free throws, (and like you said) defend that makes him undesirable, to me.
Seems like all his positive traits and all his negative traits were on display last night. Just as advertised. Only surprise was that he actually shot above 30% from three.

Towns might want to give Minny the benefit of doubt. They seem to be building a defensive team around him (Culver, Covington, Okogie, Layman, Reid). They have a plan in place that should result in a playoff endgame.

No. I saw him make quick decisions, make catch-and-shoot shots, finish through contact and his Free throw form was fine, even though he was only 3-5. He looked much better than what I saw of him at Duke. I still wouldn't have taken him #3, because I don't think he has Star upside, but he may become a good offensive player.
*** Closer to Derozen than Evan Turner, that I originally thought.

Minny is going to be much better than a lot of people think.

Well yea, I mean, he's kind of an unprecedented player at his height so there will never be perfect comparisons. But I've always said if he has excellent distributors, like Nash was for Stoudemire, he can be an absolute force like early Stoudemire was.

Really wish we traded up for him. An attainable player that I still stand by being a top three prospect from this draft.

BTW, A year from now the Lakers are going to be just as sorry they gave up Lonzo Ball as they are that they gave away D'Angelo Russell. Shoulda gave up that fraud Kouzma instead.

Speaking of the Hornets, they could have had Gilgeous-Alexander and Alexander-Walker and instead opted to go Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington.
