Brown will never bench Simmons for obvious reasons.

Simmons playing with real fire of late and looking the goods. Has been the best player on the Sixers in their past 2 games.

Seriously what are the obvious reasons?
The Accession of Paul Reed is upon us !

You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

The NBA isn't high school. You don't bench your star PG that the team is built around and lose games in order to teach him a lesson. Brown might as well walk up to Josh Harris and ask to be fired.

Ok thanks for that. Then what does Brown do ? Just grin and bear it and hope it gets better? Can coaches only coach the non superstars on their teams now. Is that where their power ends? All rhetorical questions by the way.

Because according to a lot of stats, Simmons is a top 50 player in this league (and 3rd best on the team)?

Ben's November was hot garbage. His December was okay. His January is looking pretty good so far. If he can carry an aggression throughout the rest of the year, we'll have something.

I don't think it's a coincidence that his numbers are up once all Star voting began.

I think he's too old for the Rising Stars game.

Could also be he was defering to his teammates and was trying to set them up. Also adjusting to new teammates

Deferring to teammates? That makes him sound like a MLE player and not a max guy. We need him to a be a star, not a deferential glue guy.

He's the PG and not a scorer (no matter how much he's paid. A pay check doesn't transform you).

His job is to get his teammates going

He was a scorer in college, he needs to score in the NBA. There's no value in a PG that can't score in the modern NBA. You're first job as a ball handler in 2020 is to score. Otherwise, you're wasting time being on the ball.

It's Ricky Rubio's job to get his teammates going. Ben Simmons needs to score the ball while distributing like LeBron, Giannis, Luka, etc.

Not if you have at least 2 teammates capable of scoring 20+ per game and 2 others capable of scoring 16+ per game.
Something LeBron/Giannis/Doncic don't have

If Ben Simmons is waiting to eat until after Josh Richardson and Al Horford are done, he's doing a huge disservice to the Sixers. You could argue even letting Tobias eat 2nd is being too passive. He should be putting up 20+ right there behind Embiid to make the Sixers a legitimate contender. He's talented enough to do so.

It's pretty much impossible to average 20+ per game on transition buckets and shots deep in the paint. He will never reach that output unless he develops at least a midrange jumper.

Lol Simmons is at worst the second best player on the team. He’s also at least a top 25 player in the nba and a top 5-10 defensive player in the nba.

Agreed, lots of posters too shallow in their thinking about basketball. Simmons is a sure fire All-Star and honestly his impact is comparable to Embiid in most games.

Kyrie and K.Love said hey. D.Wade and Bosh said don’t forget about them.
