Playoff +/- Data

Post#1 » by GeorgeMarcus » Tue May 14, 2019 6:50 am

In case anyone is interested, I posted the following +/- data in another thread. For all Sixers who played at least 80 playoff min:

Embiid (11 games)
on: +143 in 334 min
off: -123 in 194 min
net: +266

Butler (12 games)
on: +98 in 421 min
off: -62 in 155 min
net: +160

Harris (12 games)
on: +59 in 443 min
off: -23 in 133 min
net: +82

Simmons (12 games)
on: +39 in 421 min
off: -3 in 155 min
net: +42

Redick (12 games)
on: +39 in 376 min
off: -3 in 200 min
net: +42

Scott (10 games)
on: +2 in 193 min
off: +26 in 287 min
net: -24

Ennis (11 games)
on: -7 in 232 min
off: +55 in 296 min
net: -62

Boban (11 games)
on: -26 in 105 min
off: +64 in 423 min
net: -90

Monroe (10 games)
on: -43 in 90 min
off: +77 in 390 min
net: -120

For the record, I didn't adjust net for minutes in any way. Still a pretty telling data set. Looks like we needed a competent 6th man more than anything else. A better backup big at a minimum.

Need a back-up big as top priority after re-signing our top guys.

I dont get all these talks about getting a back-up PG.

The drop-off in defense when Biid is off the floor is the biggest problem from G1 of regular season to G7 of the playoff series against the Raptors.

I wish Bolden ate Monroe's minutes, but I agree that's not a solution. I'm still baffled that Brown subbed Monroe in for a single defensive possession before halftime last game, and he fouled Lowry en route to an And-1. Brown immediately subbed Embiid back in (with ~30 seconds left). I still feel like I'm missing something because why sub your best defender out for one defensive position? It's like he was platooning the opposite way he was suppose to

True that. I believe Embiid has some foul issue then so he was preventing embiid to get the foul.
