Hope I'm dead wrong, bit I wouldn't be surprised if they just opted to skip the summer/fall league this year given the brief offseason.

No insane Zhaire Dunkz Hawd highlights and Shayok will be denied MVP honors (it was in the bag).

If they disband the Summer League forever, will Korkmaz have been the final guy to drop 40?

Saddiq Bey feels like the Thybulle of this draft for us. Not in the sense that they are similar players, but because they have exaggeratedly good stats (Thybulle, stls & blks; Bey, 3fg%), have good length and versatility, perceived "ready now" ability, and is a mock draft darling. Helps that Bey is a Villanova kid. I’m not necessarily anti-Bey, but there’s close to no chance he’s going to come out of this draft as one of the biggest steals. Definitely a role player.

Bey is just boring and likely not a high end pick, I mean he is alright in that range but I'd hope for the 76ers to go after someone of another profile

Has he decided to return back to school or is he still entered into the draft without an agent? I feel like teams might actually ask for him to stay in the draft. Despite having a "overweight" body type, he has decent athleticism and seems like a bowling ball getting to the rim. Nice % at the rim and shot near 40% from three, 85+ FT%. 2.5 STL%. This draft feels pretty rough, so if he could show out in combine testing (if there will be one), then I feel like teams will be enamored by him.

I'm still holding out hope that we come away with Myles Powell in the second round. I just want to see him once play with Embiid.

Assuming Saddiq Bey goes in the top 15, I need us to get Jaden McDaniels at #22, and then Vernon Carey, and maybe Reggie Perry in with a mid-2nd round pick. My ultimate fantasy would be packaging picks to get Bey, McDaniels and Carey in the back half of the first. That said, I think the quality of this draft is poor. Thybulle, Gafford, Claxton > Bey, McDaniels, Carey.

...

Smallball does not mean trying to win games with smaller players. It means getting bigs who have guard-like skills. Joel Embiid is proof of this. I think McDaniels is the most natural ballhandler of all the forwards. Turnovers and poor fg% are from trying to take his man off the dribble all the time and taking contested shots. Won't be his role in the NBA. Also can't get his shot off in traffic because he's so skinny. Game similar to Brnadon Ingram, but obviously ca't get to the rim with the ease Ingram can. We have no up and coming big forward to make either Harris or Horford expendable. Two years in the G-League and McDaniels will be ready to contribute.

McDaniels has all the makings of a guy that can only play with the ball in his hands and he wasn't skilled enough to be a difference maker in the PAC-12

non-defender, non-rebounder, physically undeveloped - no thanks

a guy who can play with the ball is the player i want without the ball, except with a catch and shoot rhythm. i'm not really into guys who shoot very well but without skills. prefer the opposite. i was not on the mikal bridges train, for example. and the fact that he is physically undeveloped is a plus, not a minus. because it puts his defense and rebounding in a better light, for me. which is what the tape is telling me. the #22 pick in the draft will not dominate the pac12 as a freshman. all about context. if there's any paul reed fans out there, i'll put mcdaniels up against reed in two years. in fact, i'll bet in five years, mcdaniels will be one of only 6-8 players drafted in this year's first round averaging over 18min/gm.

Terrible at the rim on low frequency along with mediocre FTr on top of a bad TS%? No thanks on McDaniels.

Jaden McDaniels can create and shoot a little, but his defense sucks and he's a doofus with a low basketball IQ. Seems like the typical losing basketball player that gets a ton of chances based on his talent but never helps anyone.

Especially since your view would be blocked by Mo the bust Bamba sitting in the backseat!

Jk lol

In your defense, I remember you making a good call on DeJounte Murray.

Jaden's defense is actually a plus part of his evaluation

Other than sliding over and getting some blocks as a help defender, I don't think he offers anything defensively. Can't guard anyone and doesn't seem like he's interested on that side of the court.

Who cares about a direct comparison, though?

Paul Reed possesses winning qualities that make him likely to be a worthy 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th man on a contender.

McDaniels is going to flop in a featured scoring role and then be a no-defense scoring specialist on his 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams. What's appealing about that? And he doesn't even have a good head on his shoulders.
