Buddy Hield is a losing basketball player. All that trade would do is ensure we keep losing in the 2nd round and facilitate an eventual Embiid/Simmons trade demand.

I'm not that desperate to salary dump Horford that I would pay a 1st rounder to do so.

I don't love Hield but he is a top5 shooter with some creating ability and neutral defense in the right context, he is def worth a 1st and Horford for the 76ers, and Zhaire may be a lost cause sadly

I might be back on the Elijah Hughes bandwagon again. Don't think he's much of a on man defender, but he is a great rotational defender and closes out on shots extremely well.

His upside to be a secondary scorer (even though we don't have a primary scorer unless you count Embiid) is what's alluring to me. He is quite good at C&S and has the comfort to be a nice stepback shooter. I wouldn't be upset if we gave him a shot.

A great shooter that doesn't defend, doesn't really move the ball well, can't create on the ball in the halfcourt against playoff defenses, and has a bad attitude. I just don't think he makes as any more of a championship threat. And we burn an asset in the process.

Hield would be great as a Richardson replacement or better yet a JJ replacement but he is not the final piece guy.

We still need that third star or better yet a perimeter scoring option guy that Jimmy often was for us. Having a another option in close games is what this team lacks because our best option is Embiid who you can just double team and just let our shooters beat you...which does not happen too often. Hield would help there but relying on kick outs to be the main source has not worked for us. Jimmy shat the bed in game 7 down the stretch but we got to a game 7 by having that option. As is our offense is too one dimensional.

Of course, we aren't exactly in prime condition to get that guy now either soooooooo

Remember when we had assets? Good times.

What's the deal with Immanuel Quickly from Kentucky? Projected as a late 1st or early 2nd. Is he the POA defender / insane shooter we've been missing? His shooting numbers are insane and scouting reports say he's a good/versatile/long defender.

What is he missing?

Quickly is an elite shooter but definitely a huge defensive zero. Like unsalvageably bad defensively. People saying he can defend the point of attack are probably conflating him with teammate Ashton Hagans.

Hagans is a phenomenal defender with a career 79% free throw shooting (inplying upside with the jumper). Character red flags, but promising skillset.

Quickley is fine on D actually (good for a Guard imo) he is also a solid play-maker, better than he has shown in UK, he was steady in HS (think Jose Calderon)

He is just not that elite as a shooter though, mostly C&S but not much off movement shooting, if he had that he would not be that much different from Shamet actually

I'd have him top40 though, I like him

Hagans is pretty overrated on D

I don't see him being fine on defense. Looks like a sieve to me.

If you're drafting him on the pretenses of contributing on both ends, you're making a bad pick.

If you using a late 2nd on him on the pretense of him being a tremendous shooter that can attack closeouts adequately, then it's a passable pick.

I don't think he's a winning player, though. Just seems like a tiny shooting specialist that can't create and is a defensive zero. I wouldn't want him to step foot on the court in a playoff series.

The two guys on Kentucky worth drafting are Hagans and Maxey.

Hagans for his tremendous defense, ball movement, minor creating abilities, and hope for an eventual jumper.

Maxey for his tremendous shotcreating abilities and hope for an eventual jumper.

Hagans is a fine defender, he is not above avg and he is def not making a big impact on that end

There's sooooo many PGs in the league that can't defend, though. Hagans can so he'll automatically be above the average defensive level expected out of the position.

Based on his numbers his shooting is elite. Not sure what more you could possibly expect. The dude shot free throws at 92.3% last year. That's insanely good.

I'm more concerned about his defense, as his defensive stats and BPM are really poor.

Pretty sure Fish rates guys shooting ability based on AAU stats or something.

No clue why he thinks Cole Anthony and Grant Riller are elite shooters (both are mediocre) and Quickley is not (he's elite).

Hey guys, I just added a new feature to my site that let's you compare two prospects side by side here: https://nbadraftcomp.herokuapp.com/compare

Probably one of the cooler tools I've added.

I also added age as a method for comparing players for per40 and advanced stats which a lot of you requested! You can also choose to add manual measurements on the site as well as pick and choose which measurements you would like to compare physical measurements for players. Also similarity scores for comparisons are on the site as well!

If you don't mind checking it out that'd be amazing!!!!

seems pretty clear that he's referring to Quickley's shot versatility (or lack thereof) as to why he doesn't think he is an "elite" shooter

Who cares about shot versatility in a conversation about grading a guy's shooting ability? Shot versatility is a subject in a conversation about someone's scoring, not shooting.

Quickley is a likely eventual 40% three point shooter. I don't care if 95% of those shots are stationary catch and shoots, that's elite shooting.

I think I'm still on board with him. I get too caught up in lazy defense and have been burned by it before. Dude is a legit scorer at the next level.

I am just not sure with him and Ayo, they are athletic marvels but not a huge fan of how they think the game and their skill level

It sucks that Quinton Rose has such low basketball IQ because he possesses some serious NBA traits.
