I don't see how Harris and Horford could fit together. Butler and Horford make a lot more sense.

Yeah since last Friday we have over 50 pages. It’s more of a live chat like a game thread. Some of us micromonitor every tidbit that comes across twitter. Lol

I’m very intrigued by the “offer Simmons the max at the opening of FA” at the top of the page. Why would they want to do that - is it possible that they want to force him to answer now and if he hesitates, deal him in this immediate period to bring back a load of assets? And if he says yes and signs, then they know they have him for another 4/5 years and maybe can feel more free to take away some of his on ball responsibilities (as they did at the end of the Raptors series)(side benefit: put more pressure on him to learn to shoot at least from 15 feet) and even play him as a small ball 5 when Embiid is off the court instead of going to get a backup center other than a cheap returning Boban (who would only play in certain situations)?

Curious what it means - and if he did hesitate, what could/would you get back for him that would fit under the cap and be worth it?

Embiid (60 games) + healthy Simmons + whomever = 50 wins

just gotta find the right chemistry around them

In case anyone didn't see it. Sixers Saturdays has admitted there was no bombshell and it was apparently a stunt to publicize their garbage podcast.

EDIT:: Not including link b/c they don't deserve traffic.

That was obvious but good for them for admitting it.

Already annoyed by people inevitably not getting what Ben’s max means.

Admittedly, I'm pretty bad with the contract aspect of the NBA, but wasn't this going to be a next summer problem?

I never heard of him before, but doesn’t seem like a sound strategy. Not sure that would make potential listeners excited to follow them.

lets go full tin foil hat

Ben getting the MAX asap probably spells the end of Jimmy and this Houston stuff isn't just Morey being desperate.

yeah.

It's a non-story. Sunday is just the 1st day he becomes eligible. They're not going to extend him until they get everything else done. Probably in October.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I think the insinuation there is that the Sixers are going to let Jimmy walk because they don’t want to go gonzo into the tax with four max contracts. Ben taking up one early is the excuse.

I had this thought on the way home from work. There was a report, I think it was Lowe, that said nba execs felt the SIxers would be a huge problem if they rolled it back. I wonder if all this smoke is being created by other FO's to try and prevent the Sixers from rolling it back?

Figured we were due for a conspiracy theory.
