Yeah, I'm inclined to believe it as well. There were a few instances where he reported something as happening and it didn't get picked up by the Woj/Shams level for a day or two. I mean if you're making all of this up for attention, I doubt you'd waste your time with a Kyle Korver vet minimum signing.

Scrolling through he has a bit of a track record considering the date and time he posted a thing or two.

Yeah, I'm not vouching for this guy or anything but in light of Chandler agreeing to a deal with the Rockets, here's another one he had days ahead of time

It's hard to say. He also reported yesterday/this morning that Tacko Fall signed a 2-way with the Celtics - but they've already used both spots for Waters/Strus and I'm fairly sure that Tacko signed an Exhibit 10 contract. If he's a "former agent" wouldn't he know these things?

I don't know, I still think that while he probably has a single source, he's just reporting whatever he hears. I guess that means I'd consider whatever I see from him as possible, but not necessarily certain. On a positive/confirming note, I read in the lakers press conference they were talking about leaving at least one roster spot open for flexibility, so maybe they no longer/didn't ever have any interest in Korver, which only increases the chances of this being real.

if we strike out on korver, what's left on the market?
wouldn't surprise me if they sign sefolosha. . Justin holiday will get more than the minimum.

Nik Staukaus did look good early for Portland last season. I'd be fine with him if we wiff on Korver.

I said at the start of this, we would probably end up with someone like Jodie Meeks....and if Korver isn't coming then I could see him probably being the "best" remaining alternative.

I want Shumpert and Diallo .
Shumpert looked good on the Kings last year and Diallo is young, athletic and could learn behind Horford to shoot 3's and defend.

I'd be pretty surprised if it was a straight 5/170. I assume Ben would push for a player option or at least an escalator to 30% if he made an all nba team.

If it is though awesome.

Might be holding out for a pay day via a cap matching sign and trade from the Rockets. Otherwise he's likely a minimum guy at this point

People don't like him, but Iman Shumpert is the best player left by far (including Korver and Justin Holiday).

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Is there designated player/Derrick Rose rule implications that could have Simmons qualify for a bigger % of cap?

If he makes 3rd team all NBA he's eligible for a contract starting at 30% of the cap instead of 25%.

A potential benefit to an extension would be negotiating that so it's harder for him to get it. Like Embiid agreed to only be eligible if he make 1st team all NBA. He made 2nd team, so he didn't qualify for it. Otherwise if he waited until the summer he'd be making like $5 million more per year right now.

I'm not sure if the Sixers will be able to get Ben to agree to that though. Jo had all the health stuff and had only played 31 games in 3 years at that point. Ben has been durable since his standard Sixer rookie injury and has already made an all star team.

Honestly, if for some reason he plays himself to the level where he would make an all-NBA team I don't think anyone will begrudge him the extra money. I'm pretty sure we would have to see an incredible jump in shooting for him to beat out any of the other guards out there for All-NBA teams, so frankly, I'm not that worried. The guys who are in there are locked in barring a catastrophic injury, and even then you would probably even need 2 of them before Ben even sniffs the end of the ballot.

I’m assuming it won’t have a PO but will have the escalator if Simmons makes All-NBA.

Even without a jumpshot, don’t rule it out. He finished 9th in All-NBA voting for guards this past year.

2 out off Burke, Crawford, Korver, Stauskas or Vince Carter and EB42 would get a B+ for the offseason.
