I predict Jonathon Simmons won't be playing 19 minutes on opening night

At Parx, we are tied for 5th best odds with the Rockets at +1200.

Obviously Kawhi will dramatically change the Raps odds if he leaves.

"Replacement-level PG" is one of the best players on our bench!

Congrats on the new make up of the team. This team, at worst, is built for the ECF. More likely an NBA finalist.

The 76ers are just one good bench shooter and good health from crushing the Eastern Conference, IMO.

Hate these things. I like what we’ve done but let’s see us play first before we go crowning ourselves.

May be a lot of folks on these boards eating crow on their EB takes.

The Sixers didn't have their full Simmons-Redick-Butler-Harris-Embiid lineup for the majority of last season. According to the same site, last year's late season roster had a CARMELO rating of 1727. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2019-nba-predictions/76ers/

The current roster has a CARMELO rating of 1686. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/nba-free-agency-diary-did-the-sixers-lose-jimmy-butler-and-get-better/

So no, the team is not better according to CARMELO. The only difference is the starters are already in place, so more total wins, but the team quality is roughly the same.

Funny that we actually lose a lot of offense and star power for me. But the fit kinda looks a lot better that i dont know if im becoming bias to feel were gonna be a better team

I’ll be a lot more confident when I see Horford moving well. If he is still really good then we will be fine. I’m still just coming to terms with him as a Sixer.

The more i think of our team..

You know how team as they mature they have two modes. A regular season mode and a playoff mode.

I feel like we are trending towards developing that. In regular season you can win playing Heat style basketball. Going hard on defense and running 2 man game entire game. I expect us to get Thybulle and Zhaire a lot of mins late season and Josh rich to run the 2man game way lot more. This would lead us to have an easier time in the regular season.

And when playoff comes. With the addition of Horford -and KOQ, Biid will be fully rested. We all know we could have made the finals for 2 straight years if Biid was healthy right?

For crunch time, our guys would be more experienced. Big Al should also help with this. Spacing is much better from the starting unit having only 2 floor spacers to 3 this year. And maybe even 4 if Embiid’s shooting improve from 31% to atleast league average. Then maybe we shall see the rise of ToBUCKETS Harris, Embiid Olajuwon and Jordan Richardson

If opponents will put their PG on Josh Richardson, where will they put their SG? At Tobi or Ben?

Ben should have a big advantage against guards.

Horford should be defended by PFs, which used to defend Ben.

Warriors could have trouble defending Ben with Russell or Curry?

Probably put your SF on Ben, put your better defensive guard on Harris and worst perimeter defender on Richardson.

I also think we could see a decent amount of zone played against us due to the size mismatches and weak perimeter shooting of our lineup.

We lost some offense, but we won a lot of defense. Game is played on two sides of the floor at an equal level, so I see no issues. And I really think Shayok will be a quality backup player.

Well that 1686 also includes Jon Simmons and his -3.5 rating playing 19 mpg. Also doesn’t include Oquinn who they project at +0.6, and or whatever they are throwing into the 5 open roster spots, in season trades, buyouts etc.

Pretty good starting point, all in all.

now that Jimmy is gone, they're as good as Ben's new and improved outside shot.

He guarded Giannis regularly this season. I am not concerned.
