Previous thread: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1735541

How my predictions fared last season:

Predicted Wins: 57
Actual Wins: 51

Predicted Standing: 3rd in East
Actual Standing: 3rd in East

Predicted Finish: ECF
Actual Finish: 2nd Round

Most unexpected events: Trading for Butler and Harris. Simmons making little progress. Fultz **** the bed completely.

Predictions for this season:

Wins: 58
Standing: 2nd in East
Finish: ECF
Events: Harris improves defensively. Teams still leave Simmons wide-open in the playoffs. Embiid finishes top 3 in MVP.

Put up or shut up. What are your predictions?

Record: 55 wins. (Mean between Raps’ 58 and our 51 win)
Standing: 2nd in the east behind Bucks
Finish: Finals. (NBA then punishes us with our bullyball)
Events: Tobias, Ben and Biid make allstar, the only team with 3 allstars.

Based on the encouraging things I see from the bench, I see this as a 60 win team. There is nobody in the East that can beat this team without having an outlier 3pt shooting game. That's 22 losses:
Bucks 2, Celtics 1, Raptors 1, Nets 1, Magic 1, Heat 1, Pistons 1, Hawks 1, Pacers 1,
Houston 2 (I don't like the Matchup)
Clippers 1, Lakers 1, Jazz 1, Nuggets 1, Trailblazers 1, Warriors 1, Spurs 1, Pelicans 1, Kings 1, and one (1) scheduling loss.

60 wins
Embiid: 1st team All-NBA, DPOY
Simmons: 3rd team All-NBA
Josh Richardson: 2nd team All-defense
Tobias Harris: All-star reserve
Thybulle: 2nd team All-Rookie

***Finals appearance. Depends on matchup. Lakers: We win. Clippers: (as currently constructed) We win. However I don't expect the Clippers to go into the playoffs with Harrell and Zubac as their Centers.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I predict we will win the title, our super tall lineup will be too much for the modern soft NBA, it will be end of cycle for 3pt spamming and artificial style of play.
As for the players, I have Simmons making a historical leap and winning MVP while having a deadly shot, Embiid will be as good as he was this season, so a top 10 player but it will be hard to put him top 5.
Great takes since 2024-04-20

57 wins.
1st in east.
ECF winners
In the game 7 championship decider, with the Clippers trailing by 2, Leonard’s attempt at a game winner 3 pointer hits the rim bounces up and ........ tbc

Assuming health I think the Sixers win 60-63 wins, get the number 1 seed in the playoffs, and make it to the finals.

When they are in the finals they will at least be competitive with whichever team they face, and could win it all.

I haven’t felt this confident about the team going into a season since 2002, and even then we knew that we were Iverson, an aging Mutombo, and a bunch of other guys.

This years team is far more talented. I think we are embarking on what could be a very special season, and the beginning of what could be a lengthy championship window.

I only 'fear' the Clippers to be honest

And even against them we should have a chance because their team also have holes we could expose (front court especially)

Embiid's health and aggressiveness is the key
