Another big stage game on ESPN. Time to make a statement and end the skid.

If Embiid plays i think we win this.

We match up well with the Rockets and we should play hard to end the losing streak.

I expect the effort to be there tonight after the call out session and the game being on national TV. Houston might be able to out offense them though, so this could go either way. I'd love to see them hold them under 100. And Ben needs to put up at least one 3.

Not having Thybulle for this game gonna hurt. We don’t have anyone that can guard both Harden and Westbrook. It’s gonna be a ugly loss here plus it’s a road game.

I'm guessing Richardson on Westbrook and Ennis on Harden.

No use in wasting Richardson on Harden, he's unstoppable anyway. And Ennis might have picked up a few things to key in on to help him better defend Harden, given that he's a former teammate.

Richardson and Simmons? I think Corey Brewer is on the street (his beard at least looks that way). Zhaire coming out party?

I think Thybulle's defensive aggressiveness would work against him on a guy like Harden.

Ben's going to drop 30 tonight so I don't want him to have a tough defensive assignment. The players' meeting worked and he's going to come out attacking and scoring like an actual star.

Some optimism in this thread, I like it. I'm still lacking confidence in this team, but who knows. Maybe they'll turn things around the 2nd half of the season and establish themselves as the 2nd seed.

LOL
Thatll be the day

I see much of the same weve seen last few weeks, and if we do win, itll be followed by a loss as that will be the teams 1 good win in over a week so they can coast again

Id love to be wrong

Don’t think those 2 can guard them all game without getting into foul trouble. Harden and Westbrook are good at drawing fouls like Embiid.

I wonder if Westbrook/Embiid will have an entertaining confrontation tonight.

I don't know guys, this is going to be a tough game. This is game three of a tough eight game schedule. We've lost the first two so far. I would love to see Zhaire Smith get some minutes, but that's not going to happen. I'll say this...We have Joel Embiid on our team and with him healthy, we'll always have a chance to beat anyone on any given night. If there was ever a game where Ben Simmons needed to be assertive, it's tonight against Houston. We'll see.

Admire the optimism and positivity, in the past I have always been a strong advocate of Ben, unfortunately I have conceded that he is very talented, but he is talented in the way that Brandon Ingram is talented. He can be a fun player to watch on an average team but not YET a legitimate option on a championship-level squad.

Sixers need to make an upgrade, that much became abundantly clear after their recent embarrassing losses. A legitimate modern day PG please...god..

Our only chance today is Houston's weak defense.

This feels like a 3 point barrage is gonna destroy us.

Depends how smart harden is. Instead of jacking up jump shots. If harden is smart with the pick and roll. And knowing embiid sags inside the restricted area. If harden wants to settle for the 5-7 foot floated just right outside the restricted area. Harden can get 30 points in the paint that way all night.

Harden is a master of the floater. It’s been such a high percentage shot against the sixers defense this season.

I think this will be the biggest test of Simmons young career. Publicly being called out by Embiid and other members of the team for not shooting. Anything less than at least one 3 pointer and at least one mid range jump shot taken during the game today and moving forward, may just be the beginning of the end for Simmons.

I want to see a hungry Simmons moving forward that consistently takes the second most shots per game on the Sixers. No reason he shouldn’t be scoring 18ppg plus easily and looking for his own shot to help us win.
