Tobias for corner 3 in closing seconds doesn’t work Brett

It didn’t work on Mother’s Day game 4 of playoffs vs raptors

It didn’t work to win the overtime dec 27 overtime
Miami Heat loss.

It won’t work tonight.

Aren't we paying that guy more than anyone on the team this year? Almost missed the top of the backboard too.

Yup. He’s doing the fake head whiplash selling any type of contact.

I’m surprise the nba doesn’t crack down on that and start calling fouls the other way.

All the superstars these young guys watched coming up were doing it. They should have cracked down a decade ago if they wanted to make changes for the current game.

As a fan i simply cant respect that nonsense. The jumping backwards, stopping short on screens, whipping your body around. As a player it make make me furious.

Tobías simply isn’t the closer calibre. Seen plenty of people float JRich trades, it I’d prefer to keep him and see if we could offload that god awful Tobias contract for some pieces.

The only takeaway from this game is I'm more convinced we need to move on from Brett.

How many games like this before he goes?

I trust Ben taking that shot over Tobias and his impinged jumper

We should have worked the margins better with more vet minimums instead of breaking in all these young guys at once. Vince would have been great for a leadership perspective.

The smaller guys get to sell the fake contact a lot easier. The big guys like Embiid have to get whacked hard to get
The fouls.

It took Brett 44 minutes and 37 points to realize he should put Ben on Trae. Lousy coaching.

ECF or he's out. Might even be NBAF or bust.

gotta defend better.

that drop coverage is trash. It gives ballhandlers open looks and free passing lanes.

it makes no sense

A weird game.

Neto and Korkmaz playing a combined 41 minutes and scoring 0 points (0-13 fga) is probably a major reason we lost.

Add 13 missed free throws and 3 bench points bar Mike Scott.

Yea, I’m surprised how close it was given how poor we shot threes and free throws. Shake actually looks like a good player though and Ben seems to have improved at the line. Both of those things could have a sizable impact down the stretch and through the playoffs.

I am ok with Embiid, he can be impactful when he wants to be, that broken finger sure is a factor too, I rather him not go full out and take care of his finger for now.

On the other hand, I still think Tobias is the main problem here, as much as a Brett Brown if not more so.
He is simply a poor man’s Middleton, with poorer passing vision.
Before letting Brett brown go, or even talking about trading Embiid and Simmons, trading Tobias should be the first move, I will say it once again, he simply doesn’t fit with the team.

They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Also one more Shake thing. Guy is signed up for a 4 year deal that pays him almost nothing. Given that we are going to be a luxury tax team, him becoming a competent role player would be huge over the next few years.
