Not a starting unit but this 5 man unit is intriguing

This lineup's spacing is way worse than even last years one.

But that lineup can potentially make the opposing teams have 3-5 mins scoring drought.

That's what we thought last year....
Crappy offense also has a negative effect on the defensive numbers. When you concede so many transition opportunities, there's no player in the world who can negate that many "free buckets".

That lineup has virtually no ball handling or shooting

If Reed's shot is improved, even though the form is wacky....but if it goes in, which is what matters.

Then that lineup could actually be sick.

Matisse will hit some 3s off the catch and shoot. I honestly think he is going to show improvement in consistency.

But I'm also very intrigued by lineups featuring Green and Thybulle on the wings.

Throw Simmons at the 4 and put Maxey at point, let them both do some of the playmaking work, and Green and Thybulle will lock down defensively.

I really think we'll see better 3pt shooting from Green too.

As we've seen with Tobias (who still shot well), and many times around the league... streaky type shooters really benefit from not being the only reliable shooter on the floor. Last year, Green was counted on to be the primary floor spacer along with Bradley (another streaky unreliable guy). If Shake, Tobias, and of course Curry hit the way we know they can...I think that type of shooting becomes contagious and can really help a guy like Green and maybe Thybulle too.

We couldn't field a single good defensive lineup last year. Lol Josh Richardson the sieve.

1. who cares about spacing? That lineup can suffucate offenses.
2. Danny Green is an excellent shooter. Thybulle shot well for a rookie. Reed has jumpshot potential.

I don't know if that lineup can keep turnovers down enough to extract its defensive value. Simmons will be overextended in the halfcourt, Thybulle will have to dribble the ball in that lineup, and if Reed does anything but catch and shoot it will be adventurous.

I don't think the spacing is bad in that lineup. But I don't like having both Danny Green and Thybulle out there together because neither can dribble. Nobody can do anything with the ball deep in the clock.

I'm good with Daryl's five. Solid defensive unit with plenty of shooting and a secondary ball handler.

Shake seems destined to play Doc's Lou Williams 6th man role. He and Korkmaz keep some spacing on the 2nd unit while Thybulle/Dwight maintain some presence defensively.

I won't be surprised if Maxey and Reed eventually crack the rotation. Those two panning out would unlock so many possibilities.

You mean Maxey? Milton can't beat defenders off the dribble.

Disagree with this. Not even close to enough sample size to say this so surely

He’d be more efficient and consistent by less ISO and more PnR and offball?

Im guessing he would play with Ben. They say Ben can create open looks for shooters since he lead the league im assisting for 3pt shots.

My prefered line-up:
PG: Simmons
SG: Thybulle
SF: Green
PF: Harris
C: Embiid

Shake, Seth, Kork and Dwight as our main guys off the bench.

But because of shooting and playmaking, I can see Shake start instead of Thybulle.

Curry has to start to stretch the floor enough. No one else is a knock down shooter.

Sure we have. We had three full college seasons of data to base this on. Shake Milton is not a shotcreater in the slightest. He's a setshooter with some tertiary facilitating skills.

Not singling you out because I've seen this sentiment posted at least 10+ times in the last couple of weeks.

Are people not aware of what Danny Green does? He's a career 40% three point shooter with 1283 career makes beyond the arc.

Shake's playoff series against Boston would have been one of the better offensive playoff series in Lou's career. His stuff has never really consistently translated to the playoffs. I think a big part of it is his herky jerk stuff is a bit of a gimmick that teams scout better and the refs don't give as much in a playoff series. And he doesn't have the physical stature to overcome a lot of that.
