If we manage to dump Horford (e.g. straight up for Conley), I'd like Willie Cauley-Stein as our backup Center. He should be cheap and available for a vet min. More than adequate to hold the fort when Embiid is out.

I'm all about a Tobias for McCollum swap this summer. I think its the most realistic deal for a "star" we could possibly get for Tobias.

CJ would be an excellent fit as our PG to fix our spacing woes as a willing catch and shoot 3 point threat, along with a primary perimeter playmaker when needed.

Pairing him with Richardson in the backcourt, we'd then need a 3&D SF or PF. Robert Covington or Otto Porter would be perfect.

I wonder how married David Griffin is to Brandon Ingram. Does he look at his usage, durability, and poor defense and decide shop him in a sign-and-trade?

I think Brandon Ingram paired with Joel Embiid would complete the championship puzzle.

If we’re looking at Ingram, I’d rather try to swap Embiid + Harris for him + Jrue + Hayes.

Holiday/Milton
Richardson/Korkmaz
Ingram/Thybulle
Simmons/MLE
Hayes/Horford
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:

Lowry/Melton/Payne
Maxey/Hield/Council
Oubre/Batum/Martin
Harris/Covington/Wilson
Embiid/Reed/Bamba

Doesnt Ingram have health issues that could end his career like Bosh's?

It would be a big risk to give assets for him.

I feel like I need to go on a block party for anyone that suggests trading Embiid. You just don't trade players of his caliber without a trade demand. Do we really want to swap our team for a worse version of the Pelicans?

Winning a title with Embiid/Ingram within a 3 year window and then bottoming out and entering a rebuild sounds fine to me.

Embiid is off the books in Summer 2023.

He had blot clots which means that his season and career could end at any time (or not at all).

I am no doctor but this might too high of a risk for someone that you will have to spend assets to acquire and then give him a max contract. It is more like a desperation move, if nothing else works.

We've already assumed risk with Joel Embiid as a centerpiece. Might as well double down and try to have as much concentrated star power as possible within that window.

How much more return would Griffin demand beyond Simmons?

I am not sure Simmons is the guy they would want to pair with Zion. They already have Ball who provides some things Simmons would provide and Jrue who is not a great shooter either.

They don't have to make that decision yet. They could always flip Simmons, farther down the line. If Brandon Ingram truly does has a shelf-life in the NBA, they won't be able to do that with him.

Besides, I think Simmons and Zion would be fine as long you you surround them with three ball handlers that can shoot a little bit on the wings.

I view Jrue as a trade chip and Lonzo as a vet minimum guy. I wouldn't have either of those guys dictating any moves I do or don't make.

Guys like Alexander-Walker and Frank Jackson (if they re-sign him) make a lot of sense as pieces to go forward with Zion and Simmons, IMO. Both have the handle and shooting ability to compensate for Ben and Zion's shotcreation woes.

Ingrams blood clot was to be trauma related , i.e. not career-threatening like Bosh’s (congenital).

If not Ingram, what about a sign-and-trade for De'Aaron Fox?

Other than his shooting ability compromising his play off the ball (admittedly, a significant concern), Fox is literally a perfect player/personality.

Fox is a guy that tried to embarrass Lonzo Ball in a head-to-head for the hype he was getting. That's the type of Mamba Mentality we want in a lead guard. Also a tremendous defender and passer.

The way I see it, the three most ideal young guards we can pair with Embiid are Mitchell, Fox and Gilgeous-Alexander. If any of the three are obtainable through a Ben Simmons trade, it's a no-brainer.

He stopped attacking and became too jumpshot happy. Which, for a guy who wasn't a strong enough shooter to adopt that style, was a value-tanking decision.

If they are going to trade Simmons i doubt they will go for young players like Fox. The team wants to contend now and with Embiid's injury concerns they will probably want a more established star.

All 3 would be good to pair with Embiid. You know who would be better? Ben Simmons.
