Good game would have been a 30 point win if it was for real.

I love this new version of Simmons. Moving forward, if he is taking at least 2 threes a game then we have ourselves a kid with no ceiling who could end up being as great as anyone.

He's one of the most popular posters on the board. He had been realistic this year, but his end of game summaries are pretty legendary.

Most guys played well out there. Some new actions were being run including a few high pick & rolls.

Our defense and pts off turnovers lead us to have a big margin in the first half.

The lack of scorer for us and Grizz Jacking up and making 3s rather than forcing things lead the Grizz to make the game close.

I think if this was a regular season game, Ben would be more aggressive on getting his pts. He was playing his rondo role of assists + steals game.

As good as Milton is, he is limited with the ball. His offense is Aaron Mckie-esque.

I like the 3 kinds of 5 man units we have.
1- starting 5
2- small ball with Al at C
3- Al and Biid big line-up

^ these 3 types of 5 man unit allows you to counter attack whatever the opponents deals with you

On top of that, you get league best depth and have a match-up nightmare for teams for full 48

We have ourselves the most exciting young player in the league on our team. Simmons offensive game has been unlocked

I like our team, but on so many occasions you realize that Tobias is our best creator from the perimeter, and I start to feel like we are going to war with a water gun.

Ben is an all-star with great tools, but he is not the scorer in the likes of Bron, Giannis, Westbrook, Harden, Kawhi. Yesterday, he somehow managed to wedge an uncontested layup between the rim and the backboard.

Over the next year or two, if Ben takes his game to superstar level, we should get a title. If not, it’s difficult to maintain offensive production when we depend on Tobias to take over the offense when we need points.

When Joel is on the bench or extremely winded, our halfcourt offense struggles more than not.

I actually have the same sentiment after I watched the 3rd quarter again and try to see why we struggled.

With Biid off the floor, which mismatch can you attack? Kyle can stay in front of Ben.
Tobi can’t get away from Jaren.

I even thought it would be worse if Jaren was on Ben then he can just sag off and protect the paint.

In this case, we relied on some sort of a 2 man game with Ben as a roll man at PF and Al playing stretch 5.

There were instance when Tobi and Ben would play 2 man but Grizz easily switch on D.

Our best action is our guard running a 2 man with Ben. But the problem Is Milton and Jrich are average at best at running the two man game.

I'm just extremely excited that Ben Simmons is finally playing his true position and finally taking corner threes. Two things that I doubted would ever happen. My hopes for this season are now fairly optimistic, and I'm extremely bullish on the subsequent years that follow.

Great to see Ben take the first step in getting over his fears. His shot and form looked better coming from the right corner, rather than that miss from the left, but even it was online.

Not too much to take from this game, except the sixers defense is elite, the team is now deep, and look better with more shooters on the floor and the extra pick and rolls.

Also, I think Al could still be one of the better centers in today's league when not just asked to be a floor spacer. I hope they use him more effectively off the bench as a focal point offensively in the paint. The guy can make plays in that role, and can truly effectively replace both Ben and Jo with so spacing around.

With that said...Al, Tobias, and Josh are really good players, it's just disappointing I think for the team that a lot of their effectiveness doesn't come as 3pt outlets. It's like all 5 of the teams best players, are really most effective in that mid range area. For what it's worth, at least Tobi and Josh have some gravitational pull at the 3pt line, and sometimes stupid defenders are pulled to Joel and Al out there. I just think this fact could lead to some major changes, hopefully for a star that can really shoot. When your best scorer is a center, your kinky shot is to have quality shooters around him.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
