If the goal of the Jrue trade is for the Bucks to make a big upgrade competitive-wise, did they flop?

Jrue
15-5-5
3.3BPM

Yup, they got better but it really is minor.

Missing on Brogdon.
Then overpaying for Jrue.

That has to hurt.

We won't know till the playoffs. When all of Giannis' crap stops working, can Jrue's creation eke them over the finishline? Probably not, but we'll see.

Yeah we’ll see in the playoffs but Jrue’s stats are down in part because he’s only playing 30 mpg plus you can’t just add another high usage guy to two big scorers in Giannis and Middleton and expect no one to take a back seat. This is the opposite of why guys putting up points on bad teams isn’t necessarily impressive.

Look at how Bosh’s or Love’s or Ray Allen’s numbers dropped when they went from being the man on lottery teams to the third wheel on contenders. When you are in that role it’s not about putting up numbers every night, it’s about doing what your team needs to win games and stepping up when needed.

Yeah, feel bad for Fultz. Hopefully he musters up the resolve to come back from this and get back on the upward trajectory he was on. I hope this doesn't put the nail in the coffin on his career.

For Orlando's side of things, I guess they're happy they took Cole Anthony. It's step up time for him. See if he can give Edwards and Ball a run for their money in the Rookie of the Year race.

Brogdon is a treasure. I think he's an allstar lock this year. Legitimately looks like a star right now.

I agree with others that the Jrue thing will be better judged come playoff time.

I agree with you, though, that he hasn't had much of an impact offensively, yet. He's pretty much picking his spots and looking like a semi-role player. A downgrade from Bledsoe, even, in terms of dynamicism on the ball.

Defensively, though, Jrue has been stellar.

I feel bad for Fultz. ACL is not that hard to recover from unlike before. But when it comes to recovery from health issues, nothing is certain. It would definitely disrupt his momentum I hope he can come back stronger.

Magic had some really bad luck with their injuries. Isaac went down during the bubble, then now Fultz.

TBF to the Bucks...I think Brogdon wanted to run the show as a main ballhandler and not be a spot up guy for Giannis' throw himself at the rim sessions

I hate how the Pels have a talent like NAW, and he can't even get on the floor due to that crowded rotation

Embiid, Dario and Jerami Grant might be the best draft class in franchise history.

Do you guys see Christian Woods and Jerami Grant eventually becoming better than Ben?

I was supposed to watch the Clips vs Warriors game. But I saw the Warriors down big.

Warriors eventually won the game. LOL

Steph were defended by no slouch defenders. Beverly, Batum, PG, traps and etc.

Defense is more of an illusion (not saying totally an illusion). It’s what the league sells to small market teams or mediocre teams to think they have a chance.

Stay close, call a screen.
Hand check, refs call a foul.
You give space, elite scorer will step back.

Fake scoring numbers.

Assisted on 55% of his 2pt FGs.

If you project that onto our roster, that's a Ben Simmons, Seth Curry level creator. Aka not a creator.

Yeah, they're set up perfect for a bunch of vet role-playing Gs to expire off the books and allow Walker and Lewis to take on bigger roles next year. Pelicans are poised for a title within 5 years.
