Ainge got a taste of his medicine. He traded a damaged good with IT, and he’s getting it now with Kemba.

For one, you would get fleeced on the draft capital front in order to get Toronto to strengthen a division rival.

Another thing, we'd have to scrounge together nearly $30m in salary matchers.

Finally, Lowry will be 35 years old, man. Just sign him to the MLE next offseason.

The salary works with a Green+Furkan+Scott+Ferg/Bradley package. There's also ~10M lying around in Horford and Ennis exception money.

Lowry to Philadelphia could be our Marc Gasol -> Toronto moment. But unlike Marc who, by then was already a shell of his former self, Lowry is still an allstar caliber talent; and the fit is seemless. He's an onball creator, can score from all three levels, a strong playmaker, gets to the line, draws charges, defends....

The worst part about it would be losing Green, but he's replaceable.

I wouldn't be shocked if Masai couldn't get a bidding war going between the Atlantic teams alone.

That doesn’t seem all that feasible. I was thinking since DeRozan is a free agent and the Spurs at a weird rebuilding crossroad...More like Thybulle and a 1 with Green and salary filler.

Very possible another team could/would make a better offer, but Curry-DeRozan-Ben-Tobi-Jo would be very enticing lineup. DeRozan would bring a Jimmy element to the offense for sure and I think the rest of the team is better now.

Green, Ferguson, Scott, 1st, Knick 2nd for Lowry.

Two top 40 picks and three expirings. Any offer with more or better picks will come with bad money attached.

If Toronto would rather have Kemba's contract and two Boston firsts... more power to them.

Premise:
I do think the starting unit needs a shot creator, it relies heavy on Biid, that’s why it struggles so bad when Biid is not playing.

Spurs:
Danny Green
Ferguson
Tony Bradley
2021 1st round pick (negotiable can be moved to 2023)
- 25M expiring and a first round pick, instead of losing Derozan for nothing

Sixers:
Derozan

Sixers Starting 5:
Seth
Derozan
Ben
Tobias
Biid

We upgrade the offense of our starting unit. We still have Shake and Maxey off the bench.

We re-sign Derozan next year to a 20-30M contract, it should get us around 130-140M in salary.

We should be a finals contender yearly, until maybe Maxey or Shake develops into someone who can replace Green.

Terrence Furguson
2nd round pick 2056

For

Landry Shamet

We do this just to prove those guys who keep barking about how wrong we were to give up shamet

But seriously, Nets need defense and we need more shooting

2056? really? Shamet's son would be a veteran in the league by that time.

Maybe they can draft Bronny’s grandson.

What do you say if the Bulls called you up right now and said they would do the following trade but you have to give them an answer before hanging up or the deal goes away?

LaVine

For

Ferguson
Bradley
Green
Milton
2021 1st

Is LaVine that much of an upgrade over Milton that you'd give up a 1st and Danny to get him here?

You'd be left with 1 more year of LaVine at $19M before having to pay him $30M likely.

LaVine/Curry/Simmons/Harris/Embiid

With a 2021-22 bench still of...

Maxey/Joe/Thybulle/Reed plus free agents.

Umm.. definitely yes.

But you have to think why Bulls would do it and is that the best offer they can get for Lavine.

A legit trade proposal to start a talk for Lavine would be something like..

Green, Thybulle, 2021 1st rounder, 2022 pick swap and 2023 1st rounder
^ looking at the Bulls perspective they’d want something more than what Pels got for Jrue

Lavine
Seth
Ben
Tobi
Biid

Off the bench:
Milton
Maxey

* if push comes to shove and you have to add more, you replace Thybulle with Maxey

To take it a step further, I’d add Seth and trade exemption for Otto Porter then trade Ben for Beal and then Tobi for someone like Aaron Gordon for defense.

Beal
Lavine
Otto Porter
Aaron Gordon
Biid

You can run Beal and Lavine like how Blazers run the CJ&Dame offense.

This should secure you the eastern conference and likely win you the championship

Ok but what if they want Milton over all the other pieces.

Like, what if they want salary relief and Shake plus picks, and have no interest in Maxey or Thybulle?

That's my point.

Do you give up Shake plus assets for LaVine? Shake is almost 2 years younger than LaVine and $18M less expensive, and signed for 1 more year. But is his production and skill set close enough to LaVine that you keep him rather than making the trade?

The Jrue trade was artificially driven up by Milwaukee because they thought they might lose Giannis if they didn't. That doesn't set any realistic precedent, and if that's what the Bulls will be basing their expectations on, then the whole deal is DOA before it starts.

Yes.

Regret minimization. I’d regret passing up Lavine for Milton than Milton turning out to be more special than Lavine because nobody projected him to be that good at this point.

If you listen to windhorst, who talks with several nba executives, thats how he’d view trades.

If Lavine is worth more than Jrue then realistically, GMs would want more than what Pels got for Jrue.

And Lavine is not like Ben who’s an acquired taste, there should be several teams looking to add Lavine.
