Green gives us another solid perimeter defensive player who can hit threes. He's basically what we hope Mattise can be someday. At least we're keeping our first for tonight. I figured we'd have to part with that too. You can't be mad about this. The punishment is light, considering the severity of the crime that Brand committed.

Exactly, and besides, it's kind of silly to look at any one move in a vacuum. Morey inherited a borderline disaster left by Brand, who is damn fortunate to still even have a job here. Who seriously expected this to be fixed overnight, and who doesn't understand that there will be a bit of pain involved with undoing the abortion Brand created.? You can be sure there is much more to come.

For me at least, it's not that. I didn't expect him to clean up this dumpster fire in one year. But I need to see the ultimate plan because the limited flexibility this bought us (Green's expiring and TPE) have a very short lifespan.

Part of the flexibility is that hopefully we will be able to restore Harris value playing him at 4 on better fitting team, making his contract more movable.

Necessary move

Ridiculous to think that both Green AND Ferguson are better suited to this roster than Al

Some people are forgetting how dysfunctional we were last season

At first glance right now, this seems a lot lighter of a price to move Horford than originally feared.

Horford was the one making 27M to be strictly a backup, so makes sense he was the one to go first, especially since they are in the tax.

If the Sixers totally suck in 2025 and can pull a Lakers, they may not even end up paying a 1st at all.

Also, am I the only one who likes Danny Green on this team? And Ferguson has a little upside, too.

It's not fantastic, but it's far from terrible IMO.

If the Noel rumors turn out to be true we'd be filling Al's backup role pretty seamlessly.

do you think Green stays because Jason Dumars said Green is viewed as a trade asset

It depends on Richardson. I think Lavine is the next target and JRich could be part of that deal

Instead of trading for Harden, Morey will find the next Harden in Lavine. 200 IQ 4D underwater chess move.

I will say this. I'm willing to bet that if OKC decides to let Horford play up his value, they'll get a better pick or young player, than the deal Morey just made. Which makes me think, there just has to be something else in the pipeline. Even though Green theoretically fits well as a starting 2/3... Green has had peaks and valleys in terms of his 3pt shooting. In Toronto he was amazing, in LA this year, he was decent enough. Same for the playoffs, a few years he's outstanding, the last 2 years in the low 30%. But he gets attention from there.

Better fit with 3 point shooting and getting rid of that contract

Who **** cares about the contract? Tobias is the problem contract, not Horford. This does nothing.

Tobias is the worse contract and is probably more expensive to move. But Tobias as much as he sucks is a better fit next to Embiid and Simmons. Horford wasn't a good fit with Embiid.

Random thought: What are the chances that sleazy Ainge trades Hayward for Horford?
