We just were wrong, we never thought Maxey was THE process. he is what a player should be like: likable, trains hard, has heart, doesn't pout, etc.
Great takes since 2024-04-20

Guys, every thread you post about the Sixers on the general board makes the probability of winning the next game decrease by 100%.

Incredible feat is that he's playing as our lead guard, almost doubling his assist numbers from last season but hardly turning the ball over compared to last season (1,5 vs 1,3).

Definitely Edwards, the other 4 each have a case to be second. I'd probably take LaMelo 2nd then Maxey, Bane, and Haliburton.

I love Maxey but i would not take him before Haliburton, guy right now is just averaging Curry shooting with CP3 creation. That's just nuts, he has become a heliocentric guy and is anchoring the best offense in the league. His defense has regressed tho but If he's able to maintain those averages, that's MVP stuff.

Edwards has more upside too, but he's kind of a bonehead guy at times so i also need to see this level of play being sustained.

Anyway, probably would go something like: Haliburton, Edwards, Maxey, Bane.

Lamelo is definitely 5th for me, he's good but his defense, efficiency and shooting is the worst of the group. A lot of that is probably a result of playing in Charlotte but still.

Hali will be a point god, Edwards will never be a great shooter.

Maxey can get to 30 or 32 ppg in his prime. Increase 3pa to 10 per game. Increase 1sr quarter scoring currently 4ppg. Adjust to new defensive coverages of this year.

Hali is not a better shooter than Maxey. He has an awkward release that goes in but it's kind of like Shawn Marion's.

I think the best player out of this 5 is going to be a few years away from being declared. However, I would say Bane will certainly be the least of them and Edwards is the worst shooter which gives me some pause.

Haliburton right now is in a supersonic offensive system and style but he drives it. Though, I can see Ball catching him as a similar player one day.

Maxey's Steph Curry kinda play definitely puts him in discussion. Teams covering him when he crosses half court and his willingness to move off ball to the level of leading the league in miles per game is a huge deal. That combination is what makes Steph an all time great, because his impact is far beyond stats. It does everything for team spacing

So Maxey is back to 40% from 3 for the season after yesterday and he's tied (With Haliburton, Bogdan and Fox) at 10th for most 3s per game this season.

From the group that shots on more volume than Maxey, only Curry (1st on volume and 2nd on %, which is crazy at his age), Haliburton (1st on %) and Bogdan are shooting better %s.

Being a top 10-5 shooter in the league at age 23 is a big step towards being an elite player.
