Go ahead and delete if not allowed it’s probably more of a general board topic but I just wanted the input of 76 fans.

Charlotte up on Dallas by 30 points tonight and there been a number of games decided by 35 points and more even 50! what’s with all the blowouts so far this year it seems really weird. I can understand if it was the Minnesota Timberwolves playing at the LA Lakers with fans in the stands but basically it’s a neutral court every game.

What are the thoughts of some of you guys?

Lack of a preseason. Guys aren't in great shape (Luka) or new components haven't gelled yet. Plus defenses clearly seem to be behind the ball right now.

Lack of a real offseason, no summer league, minimal pre-season, no fans, strange scheduling, and just 2020 in general.

Offense getting too overpowered with teams not being in condition.

I hope we can face the Nets or the Hawks, instead of these lottery teams so we can see it first hand.

I say fans. When players get down, they aren't getting as juiced or embarrassed to try to claw back

Blowouts have been on the rise in general due to increased 3 point attempts league wide and the variability that comes along with that, as well as increased scoring in general (winning 120 to 100 is naturally a more common result than 100 to 80).

And then add in all the other weirdness (no fans, short off-season for some teams, extremely long for others, lack of practice/training camp, ect)

I think this is definitely an aspect. The stadium is pretty much empty. There's not as much hype and ways to feed off that energy for momentum.

Everything people have said, also the schedule is more compressed so teams are more inclined to wave the white flag earlier than normal. For example Nash took the Nets starters out with 3 minutes left down "only" 14.
