G17: Sixers @ Pistons 8:00pm ET 01/23/21

First of a 2 game set in Detroit. Need to take care of business against these terrible teams to get the much needed homecourt advantage in the playoffs.

Questions:
1) Will Joel play tonight or Monday?
2) Will Ben continue his 4th Q dominance from last game? Or revert to how he was playing before?
3) Can this team finally win without Jo (if he doesn't play)?
4) Will Tobi continue his all-star campaign?
5) Will Seth continue his efficiency record breaking shooting?
6) Will Shake bounce back from a rare bad game?

Time's yours.

I would rest Embiid tonight, then play him on Monday. We need to beat these guys without him.

To be honest Rose and Grififn not playing probably makes the game harder.

Hayes too (especially even).

Grant and Wright probably put up a fight, but there's really no reason this should be a game in the 4th based on talent (even without Jo). And yet...

Okay, this is one thing that I did not account for. The vibe around the team is so positive. They've never been this happy, apart from Jo's 1st and 2nd season in my opinion. As much as I wanted a trade of Simmons, the intangibles of chemistry can not go unnoticed. If Ben can play like he did in the 4th quarter yesterday that's good enough for me. THAT, is a legit star. They also seem to really like each other. I don't think having Harden on the team would have been the best for chemistry. Who knows this might be our year.

If ducler is correct then Jo is out. Need to TCB anyway.

Dwight Howard being a great teammate now is so refreshing after years of being an unlikeable jerk.

That hasn't been announced yet. But it's likely he sits.

Why are they taking so long to announce if Joel will play? It's not like they need to play mind games with Detroit on who's gonna play for us.

Game's at 8, we'll probably know between 6:30 and 7:30.

Typically announced during pre game interviews, etc.

This is Simply ridiculous there’s no reason a 26-year-old guy can’t play back to back. Wilt Chamberlain used to play 48 minutes game 82 games a year. My god Fn pathetic.

Hope so. Games where Embiid hits are exactly the games we need more scoring from Ben. A ton of shots and possessions that Jo normally uses are up for grabs.

if you have to go back to Wilt to prove a point...its a bad point to prove.

Not everybody's body is the same and wear and tear effects everyone differently.

not to mention science has evolved a ton since then and we have learned more thanks to it.

Basically anyone still pulling the "back in my day" **** is not worth listening to. Its 2021; get with the program grandpa

At this point you're just trolling. Would you rather him play 82 games and then break down in the playoffs?

Obviously everyone wants him to play every game, but his body is not built like that. Got to take it easy. It is what it is, but that's the type of player he is. Some players bodies just can't handle the grind. You constantly complaining about it, just gets old. It's not going to change anything. Plenty of teams rest their stars as well. (See Kawhi Leonard). Time to get over it.
