I don't think we have the salaries or the assets to improve our starting unit (via trade) and keep both Seth and Green

Sure we do. The 76ers have and 8 million dollar exception available and 10 million in useless salary bon the bench. You just have to get a 3rd team involved and that's a 20 million dollar player right there.

I don't think you can aggregate TPE and salaries...but I could be wrong.
If I'm right, it's hard to find a competent starter (at least more than Curry or Green) for the 8-10M contract size

I may be wrong, but I think if you do a separate trade with a 2nd team, then turn around and package to that player with others to a 3rd team, I believe that can be done.
Example: 76ers trade a fake 2nd to Bulls for Felicio's 7.5 million, to fit into the exception. Then turn around and trade Felicio, Scott, Ferguson and Maxey for Oladipo.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Mess? We're no 1 seed in the East. We lost a game, so what, cry me a river.

If your goal is to make the playoffs and maybe win a round; then all is good.....otherwise, we're a mess.

Need a wing starter who can create/shoot plus a backup Center.

Curry is a 7th guy and so is Green. To get out of the second round we somehow need two players to replace those two. Don’t hold your breath.

Easy schedule is misleading

There’s no way we beat Milwaukee, Miami, Boston, Brooklyn, in a playoff series we are the fifth best team in the east I don’t care what the record says

Green is gone if we are going for it this year that’s near a guarantee. As for pushing Curry to the bench in all for it but we would have to get creative with the exception most likely.

Lowry/shake
Exception/Curry
Simmons/thybulle
Harris/?
Embiid/Howard/stretch 5

Getting someone like PJ would be worth looking at because they we could run him at the 5 with Tobi at the 4 and Ben at the 3 with the bench

5mins is a perfect example of elite defensive pressure by Ben, mitigated by a dumb NBA defensive philosophy and a bad defender.

Simmons defense has been better than Embiid for the most part. Simmons though plays it so well but his value is mitigated by dumb schemes and average defenders. Hence why there’s so many open/slightly contested threes on the perimeter. It’s because the concept is stupid/flawed.

A good/great defender can cover well enough if they are in no man’s land

But bad defenders bleed so much on team defense and makes it easy offense for the other team. The scheme doesn’t help at all. But bad defenders leak points because they don’t know half the time/don’t have the discipline/ or even worse don’t know if what they did was right/wrong.

Hence why Embiid’s the quote unquote anchor for a defensive orientated team.

Korkmaz & Harris are what I call point bleeders, same with JJ. Same with Lillard buts he’s an elite offensive engine so he’s an on court big positive impact overall individually and for the team. Same with Booker.

If your not a positive overall once you weigh in the Individual offense/team offense, individual defense/team defense you can’t have that in the Playoffs.

Hence why players like Horry/Green/iguodala in the big games and co thrive.

Mike Scott is basically toasted at this point.

Morey will strengthen the bench, but the starting lineup really needs a Danny Green upgrade.

Bjiielca can be brought in via the TPE I think, that would allow some of our other dead space salaries like Ferguson, Poirer and Scott to be aggregated alone or with Danny Green depending on the deal.

Would have liked to see Tobi more aggressive with his number of shots today, we needed that.

Have Simmons and Harris ever played well at the same time?

Losses happen, especially on the road, but what has me worrying a little is the last three games the defense has not been particularly good. There point totalsthe last two games imo should probably mean wins or at least one win. It annoying watching the game and Zumoff and Alaa acting surprised when Devin Booker hits a 28 foor jump shot when Simmons froze for a second the one time and didnt get a hand up. The distance is not a problem for the best shooters in the league they can go out to 30 feet easy if they can square up you cant assume for a second they wont shoot because they will.

..and you cant stay close because they’ll drive past you with the league not allowing hand check.

Strange that Devin Booker is so bad in advanced statistics (also offensive stats): BPM and VORP around #120

That's only because he doesn't rebound, get steals, or get blocks. Calculators don't understand the value of scoring off the dribble effeciently.

This game made me miss Dario. Could use him off the bench right now.

It’s not worth getting angry anymore. Just accept it for what it is. This team is a 50 win, 3-4 seed , 1st-2nd round exit over an 82 game season.

Same as it ever was. They only “get up” for certain games. They have no killer instinct. Roster is weak outside of Ben and Joel. Too much dead weight.

Bucks will overtake us in the standings with the next week or so. Wouldn’t be shocked if the Nets figured it out either and pushed us to 3.

It’s rare to lose a game when you shoot 50% overall. 40% plus from 3 point range.
Grab more rebounds. Grab more offensive rebounds. Go to the free throw line twice as much as your opponent.

It’s really the bench scoring that has cost us the last two games.

Sure shake Milton can provide another 12-15 points off
The bench. But Phoenix bench had something like 37-13 advantage? Before garbage time with 3 minutes left before sixers pulled their players with 2 minutes left.

I don’t think Embiid can go 40 min elite offensively in playoffs. 35 min is max even with his Improve scoring. Harris isn’t enough.

I think demar Derozan would be a perfect cheaper fix for end of the game iso scorer more reliable than Harris.

But We don’t have assets to get expiring Derozan to make salary match. And no one at Spurs buy him out.

Bingo

Can’t beat Milwaukee, Boston, Miami, or Brooklyn in a playoffs series if all teams are at full strength.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
