Touching video about Vuc.

I was probably the biggest Vuc fan on this board back then.

I always remember that line by Doug about why he chose Vuc. Vuc is a guy who he choses basketball and not basketball choosing basketball.

Most bigs are just tall guys who doesnt really love the game and were just forced to learn the game. I believe Bynum was an example.

Guys who love the game keeps refining their skillset. They become obsess in becoming better.

I remember being excited about Bynum but bummed they traded Vucevic. He was a very good pick at 16 that year.

Honestly it's not that big of a deal, but it just shows that making win now moves with that nets team is just bumb

Harden going to the nets was just brutal for any pretender team

So it’s ok to shutdown a healthy Al Horford the rest of the season. But what Hinkie did was illegal? Sam Presti inventing the current nba era of tanking in 2006-2008. He’s doing it again.

Aldridge and Griffin can still produce points when they're on the court, but neither can grab a rebound or defend anymore.

Why do the Nets want more guys to produce points? They don't have any more offensive possessions to spare. What they need is guys that can defend and rebound. Neither Aldridge or Griffin provide what they need. Pure vanity additions. Experienced guys to fill out the bench. Not additions that strengthen a weakness.

Veteran savviness. That’s why. The goal is to to bring as many bodies against Embiid and Giannis. So what is Aldridge picks up fouls. U got Jordan who can get fouls.

I don't think the Nets have the luxury of indulging in these types of signings.

They're already bringing the worst defense in the entire playoffs to the table and now they're signing defensively-unplayable corpses, making them even worse.

Griffin and Aldridge may be terrible as max players but on the minimum and as roleplayers they are still valuable. Their main defensive weakness (swtching to guards) is not really applicable here as neither the Sixers nor the Bucks run a lot of pnr.

It's obvious they are trying to get more bodies to throw at Embiid.

Aldridge and Griffin are now Okafor level rebounders on the defensive-glass, too. So there's going to be a TONNNNNN of second chance opportunities whenever either is on the court.

Wrong team to make these kinds of signings.

Wake me up if the Nets sign Andre Drummond. Drummond is a phenomenal switch defender and he's elite on the glass. And he's a big body that can bang with Embiid. Griffin and Aldridge are food that make the Nets worse when they're on the court.

It’s not really illegal. There’s no rules saying he’s done anything illegal

But think about it on our perspective now. Do you like watching our team playing against subpar level NBA talent?

Speaking from my experience. For instance when we recently faced the Lakers without AD and Bron in the last game, I stopped watching midway the third quarter.

One, there’s a clear mismatch in talent.

Two, these multi millionaire athletes ain’t going to risk any injuries, if they dont think they have a chance. You’d mostly see them competing in the first half then pretty much raise the white flag somewhere in the third quarter.

Imagine if you have all lottery teams fielding G League players and you have an increasing population of G League caliber players. You have a number of unwatchable games. You also would create an inequality in talent among teams where the mediocre talent guys will not be signed by NBA teams because in the grand scheme of things the value of Gleague caliber players is more valuable than a mediocre NBA player.

TV views will go down. Mediocre talent will be shipped overseas while Gleague talent will increase. Overall income will also go down.

You have to look at it from a bigger perspective, not just from our POV.

NBA has an ecosystem and you can’t mess up it’s balance.

You have to make sure everyone is paid by meritocracy. And you have to produce a good show every game.

This is also why you see teams playing harder and tries hard not to rest their best players on national TV games where it’s value is just a single win not different from a non national TV game against a worst team in the league.

I dont know if what the Nets is doing will work.

But they’re creating a new trend with a handful of guys who can score off 1v1. They’re doubling (maybe even tripling) down on offense.

Seth won’t be playable against the Nets. Nets will just hunt your weak defender by ISO or PnR.

Like i mentioned before, i do see a future where guys like Drew Hanlen may end up being a head coach. The future of basketball is street ball basketball. Free flow, a lot of smoke and mirrors with no structure and very little defense.

Nets doesnt care about Embiid.

Nets be like..

Let him score 50 pts. Ok, you have Tobi and Ben. Add another 40 (20 each). What’s that? 90pts?

But we have 5 guys who can atleast drop 100 to 130 pts.

Our big 3 can easily outscore against your big 3.

We are not beating the Nets (there’s a chance we might lose before then)

Embiid + Harris
Durant + anyone is already better offensively
Harden + anyone too

Can’t go Mano e Mano wrong idea/concept

Full Grizzlies/Pistons 2.0 on them but we don’t have a legit creator on the scoring end on the perimeter.

Irving is a huge problem for us too. Irving will make Thybulle look silly in more than one game.

If there defense is above average and they are all fit to go there’s a good chance they’ll sweep the league

Nets wont get Drummond.

Why put a player who’d hurt your offense by putting him at the line? They’re not going to play hard on defense anyway. It’s not like inserting Drummond on the court will make them a great defensive team. A stretch 5 could take him out of defense.
