Simmons' is going to get hacked these playoffs - surprised Brooks didn't go to it in the 4th when Jo was cooking.

He better start hitting some FT or Doc will have some tough decisions to make

Embiid essentially played one half and we never really had to sweat. Next win is by 20.

It's going to take more than just Embiid to win this series let alone sweep them. I doubt Tobi will continue to drop 35+ points a game.

I just had a feeling that we did not play at 100%, and there was litteraly no moment in the game I had a feeling we will lost. I know it is based on feelings, but really it seemed to me as "ok we have this, just keep one more gear in case we need it." And we did not need it ...

Wizards:
- Impossible to win with Westbrook, unless he’s on fire.
- I dont know what Scott Brook was thinking with the 3 guard unit. This makes it easy for Harris to score. And I dont know what Ish of RW’s role whenever one of them does not have the ball.
- PUT HACHIMURA ON BEN AND LET HACHIMURA HELP ON DEFENSE AGAINST EMBIID ON THE PAINT.

Joel is going to feast on these wizards defenders no question about it. But they need to find a way to neutralize Beal if not he will continue to keep them in the game. Russ has been a non factor vs the Sixers all year, whatever doc has done to make him a non factor has worked.

Ben needs to make his free throws if not he will continue to be a liability in the clutch. I mean 0-6 in a playoff game from the line is unacceptable no matter which way you look at it, it’s pathetic.

Yeah he’s gonna feast. But atleast try your best.

Live with his jumpers and clog the paint.

Wiz is playing like they are just happy to make the playoffs and is more concerned on where to spend their vacation after they are out this series.

The question isn’t if we are gonna to win. It’s how we will close out games. We didn’t close out the game well yesterday. Simmons missing free throws. Embiid was sensational with mid range down the stretch. But even he messed up twice in the last 90 seconds. He bricked 3 point shot with 1 min 15 seconds left. Ben tipped to Embiid for offensive rebound. With 1 min 11 seconds left.

He’s got to think. Shot clock resets 14 seconds Sixers up by 5 points. Time is on your side here. Better to pull ball and pass it back out and take another 10 seconds off. Instead Embiid offensive foul with Beal.

Simmons missed those two free throws with 44 seconds left to give wizards another shot.

Than Embiid bounces ball off his foot with 24 seconds left. (Only 13 seconds had gone off the shot clock (Sixers got ball with 37 seconds left ). He’s got to think. When you are up 5. Every second matters. Embiid can get off any shot he wants (good or bad). In that situation. He shouldn’t even be making a move to score until 6 seconds left.

So Sixers weren’t good the last 90 seconds.

It will cost them a game later on if they perform like that. It’s just they were bailed out by wizards not being good down the stretch themselves

But this is how we blew the Boston’s game 3 playoffs in bubble down the stretch in last 90 seconds

This is how we blew Boston game 3 in 2018 (people may not remember but Sixers up in last 20 seconds of that game also in overtime. Simmons got the offensive rebound with 18 seconds left. It’s 98-97. You pull it back out. But Simmons decided to take a shot with Sixers up. Just stupid as we all remember

So Sixers still doings dumb things up late in games 3 years later.

1. Yes, he did. Briefly. Maybe not permanently, either. Seemed like Glenn was tinkering with the back end of his rotation.
2. Yep.
3. Not at all, great game from Tobi. Needs to keep that up, he’ll have big trade value in this bad FA market. Teams with cash to spend and no one to spend it on come looking.
4. Nope.

If your waiting for Embiid to grow a BBIQ , good luck!

He has elite size and decent shooting talent - but BBIQ and durability are his BIG weaknesses.

Beal scored 33pts on 56FG%.

Our defenders like Green, Thybulle and Ben were on him. And they did a good job.

But look at how Beal is scoring and why defense is quite overrated against players as good as Beal.

Oh you can defend Beal? He’ll just call for a screen and snake you till he would pull up for mid range jumper or floater.

33 points in 41 minutes is actually fewer points per minute than he averaged during the year. Also only had 6 points in the 4th quarter, two of which were a fairly meaningless and uncontested layup at the end. Plus he had 6 turnovers, several of which were during that key stretch during the 3rd where the Sixers got separation.

I’m not sure how to respond to the over/underrated thing, not sure anyone says that good defense will always completely shut down great players. It tends not to give up 37 to someone like Tobias Harris though. Or give up 141 or whatever it was the Pacers got lit up for on Thursday.

They cannot defend Embiid or the paint against us. Yesterday alone their 3 centers got 9 or 10 fouls and Embiid was in foul trouble for the first half.

They are severely undersized, Tobias scored as he did because he had a mismatch the entire game as he's guarded by Neto, Westbrook or Beal. They're so undersized they cannot double Embiid.

Having Joel and/or Dwight in the middle stop a lot of Westbrook drives to the rim.

They shot as efficient as they could and lost by 8.

Our only weakness against them is transition defense, but that's not a problem if we get rebounds and cut turnovers. The majority of transition defense woes are on Dwight not coming back fast.

Beal can get his 1-3 and in the 4th he doesn’t have much left as we just keep throwing great defenders at him making him work extremely hard for his buckets he’s going to get regardless until the 4th when he’s pretty much wore out. We did the same **** in the regular season guarding him. I love thubulle defense on him he makes Beal work extremely hard for his buckets along with Simmons

Ben defense was amazing. But those free throws weren't even close to going in. I suspect if Sixers get a big lead, Wizards will do hack a Ben just to slow down the rhtym of the game. By big lead I'm talking 20 plus point. It's worked before hack a ben. Didn't lead to wins by the Wizards. But lead to the sixers offense being out of sorts and lead to the lead shrinking.

The double teams on Embiid were half hearted attempts. I've never seen such lazy double teams. You got to hedge in and quickly run back out when Embiid is in the paint. Confuse embiid. But the soft walking over to "help" double team is the reason Wizards defense is soft. We know Beal doesn't like to play defense. Westbrook plays hard but selectively hard on defense. He knows if he hard double teams the post, he won't be in good position to get a rebound. Just Westbrook style of defense.

This, but also, even if they tried they would be ineffective because they're too undersized so Embiid has a clear vision of the court when doubled and that allow him to pass the ball easier than normal.

If they want to hang they need to reject their normal line up and put someone with size to reduce the length adventage or don't double Embiid.
