Ben Simmons Trade Thread

Post#1 » by Hussien Fatal » Mon Jun 21, 2021 3:43 am

You guys will be happy I made this thread. All Ben Trade ideas should go here because let’s face it…this is going to happen so it should be talked about.

Ben clearly is the main reason the sixers choked. He is a pathetic player at this point in time and it might be smart to wait and trade him. Hope he maybe balls out to start the year next year and raises his value. But I don’t want to go into next season with him on this team.

Therefore he needs to go and ASAP. I’m not really worried about the return as much as I am worried about getting him off this team.

Maybe they could flip him for a shooter or a point guard. I just don’t think he has a lot of value right now after this showing.

Ben + Matisse + Maxey plus a couple picks could get you a high end player but there aren’t too many high end player available

I think we should trade him to Portland for CJ straight or get a pack like Powell/Roco who are expirings and can be traded to another team for a more fitting piece late in the season.

If not, Minny is the next best option for scraps and trash. I'll take Rubio at this rate

If you take back some bad money, that will certainly increase the return.

This is the conundrum right now. They need a playmaking guard and replacing Ben is the obvious choice. But, Ben's stock plummetted. Do you really think trading Ben for Rubio is getting us over the hump?

It's Moreys job, so I'll let him figure it out, but if trading Ben for Rubio is his answer, I'll be pretty worried about the ceiling of this team.

I think the 3 names to be on the move this off-season will be Simmons, Porzingis, and McCollum

I wonder if a three way trade could be orchestrated between the clubs. If not I think McCollum would look real nice in Philly. While I’m down on Simmons, I still think he has a place in the league. What he has shown is that he’s not a point guard, but he can play the 3/4/5 effectively while giving DPOY level defence, and elite playmaking.

Problem is his skill set isn’t required next to Embiid, and Philly needs a lead guard ASAP. McCollum is also redundant next to Lillard. I actually think Simmons would breakout in Portland, and CJ would form a scary 1-2-3 punch with Harris and Embiid.

Cj or DLo if you don't want to attach future picks

Beal, Lavine will cost picks

You can do a Ben for youth spot. Coby White, or to Minny for their lotto pick.

Give me Simons, Zach Collins, a pick and a fourth asset for Ben. Simmons would actually look great on the Blazers with Lillard and CJ.

Shared this trade proposal with Blazers fans, and it seems to be in the right ballpark:

Simmons + Hill for CJ + Covington + 2023 & 2025 POR FRPs

McCollum(34)/Maxey(14)
Green(20)/Curry(24)/Maxey(4)
Covington(16)/Thybulle(24)/Green(8)
Harris(34)/Covington(14)
Embiid(32)/Howard(16)

McCollum/Maxey/SRP
Green/Curry/Milton
Covington/Thybulle/Joe
Harris/FRP/Tolliver
Embiid/Howard/Reed

I understand the concern about McCollum not being a top 15 player. He's not a true 2nd banana. But do we win this series with him and Cov instead of Ben and Hill? Absolutely. Do we potentially take down Milwaukee too? I think it'd give us a better shot than what we have now.

Unless Dame or Beal are there for the taking (which I don't expect, as they're both loyal AF), I think this is the best move out there.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards/Council
George/Watford/Walker

Few options

1. Packaging 1st rounders and some combo of maxey and thybulle with ben to get an impact player

2. Strait up swap for CJ

3. Sign n trade derozan for simmons, then get Lowery to come home and play with his best friend by playing on full MLE and resigning D green. You get to keep maxey and thybulle and green and picks and shake in this scenario so we keep our depth but add 2 veteran half court scorers who also have great chemistry

I don't care if you have to attach picks. Just go get a perimeter player that can create and score on the ball. Embiid deserves such player, enough about "don't mortgage our future".

If we're going the CJ route, I'd rather get Lavine. He should be available for Ben, or maybe Ben + picks

Unfortunately the Beal trade has sailed (we though we could get him for Tobi and filler).

Dame is out of our reach unless we give the Harden package and then some.

There’s a reason why Zach has been on awful teams his entire career

The same reason Booker has until this season? Bulls would never give up Lavine for Ben. That's a pipe dream. And he'd absolutely be the best option. CJ for Ben is the most likely trade, that makes sense for both teams. Maybe Beal. But at this point I'm not even sure if Ben has any trade value left so any trade will likely require a king's ransom of picks plus Ben.

idk lol.

Gotta trade Ben. Not sure if any trades make us that much better lol.

If you can do the CJ/Ben swap straight up. Then I'd look to move other guys too. Tobias probably gotta go too for a 4 that is just here to catch and shoot and not die on defense. our 3 needs to be a top tier defender and maybe our 2 as well as CJ/Curry backcourt is just a non starter IMO.

Again...the "best" move is to target a young player (either via the draft or not) and hope that Embiid can raise them to the next level asap. That way we also have a future and an exit strategy for if Biid breaks down fully or wants out. Going for old busted dudes and paying them tons of money seems to be asking for pain when we probably flame out again.

Idk man. Ben is the first domino but I think like whole ass franchise strategy may be the right move. Team **** up everywhere expect drafting Embiid and we are paying for it now...keep making those same short sighted moves without any thought of the future is why we are here.

**** do I know tho. Just do something lol

Im not a huge fan of Lavine but at this point, they need to try something different other than Ben. If they trade for Lavine and it fails, so be it. But it has failed with Ben too. I dont want them to get Derozan though.

Get that goon out of here.

Reed could be a potential rotation player next year. If not get someone for the minimum or with the Scott money

You guys are in for a surprise when you find out Ben is not worth what you think he is. He just got caught with his pants down in yet another playoff series. No one cares about his accolades and near DPOY status if he's doo doo in the playoffs. His value is rough right now. Bordering on reclamation project.
