Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread pt. 2
I will "start".
Simmons to Cleveland.
Garland, Nance and Prince to Philly.
Why for Cleveland: With Sexton, Garland and the number three pick (Green or Suggs), they have some redundancy at guard. Smallish but talented scorers. Simmons gives them roster balance and a much improved defense. It is tough to move on from Garland but having a two time All-Star under contract for four years will breath some life into the franchise.
Why for Philly: Garland is a potential future star. He can pass, shoot from three and play decent defense. Nance can provide bench scoring and defense. Prince shoots well from three and helps the contracts match.

Honestly these trades are so bad. Either get me a star or if Simmons' value is so low that we cant get a star back like Beal, SGA or Fox just keep him.
At that point we are screwed anyways and no one is winning while the Nets are around for the next 2 years so we might as well just sell high on Embiid if we cant get a star for Simmons.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread pt. 2
I could see the Kings going Haliburton, Hield, and Barnes for Ben and George Hill. Not of interest to me, but Haliburton has high draft pick appeal and played well last year. Hield is a negative to me. I imagine the Kings are fine with moving some of their backcourt because Terence Davis was great for them last year and gives them an opportunity to move him up into the starting lineup with Fox and Ben. Gives them a solid core to build around: Bagley, Ben, Davis, Fox.
I'm not terribly interested in that trade, but it feels right in terms of value.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread pt. 2
Mannix said GMs around the league still value Simmons very highly and are hoping Morey devalues him so they can steal him at a bargain, because many believe they can fix his shooting.
I've always believed this will be the case. You don't reach GM status without an ego, and as long as these guys have huge egos, they'll be the ones who believe they can get Simmons to shoot and turn him into a top 5 NBA player.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread pt. 2
Ok here it is folks...
The super 4 team deal that all teams involved benefit from and would likely do...
To Dallas: Shake Milton, SAC 2023 1st
From Dallas: Maxi Kleber
Why for Dallas? Shed some salary while picking up a perimeter shooter and a future 1st to use in deals to build around Luka. Value seems about right.
To Toronto: George Hill, Furkan Korkmaz (4yr/$40M), #9 pick in 2021
From Toronto: Kyle Lowry
Why for Toronto? Getting #9 is a huge deal for giving up Lowry who could just walk away. Korkmaz is a good value add here to match salaries.
To Sacramento: Ben Simmons
From Sacramento: Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley, 2021 #9 pick, 2023 1st, 2025 1st
Why for Sacramento? Honestly, because it was reported as a deal Philly would probably accept.
To Philly: Buddy Hield, Kyle Lowry (3yr/$56M), Maxi Kleber, Marvin Bagley, SAC 2025 1st unprotected
From Philly: Ben Simmons, George Hill, Shake Milton, Furkan Korkmaz
Why for Philly? Lowry and Hield would both be on 3 year deals, which matches Tobias time frame. Gives a better shot at resigning Danny. Bagley and Kleber are far better bench bigs than Embiid has ever had. The 2025 1st opens up the ability to trade both '24 and '26 firsts if needed in the future.
Embiid/Bagley/Howard
Harris/Kleber/Reed
Green/Thybulle/#28
Hield/Curry/Joe
Lowry/Maxey/2nd round pick
That team would actually compete for the ECF in my opinion.

I really like Haliburton. 6’5 point with a silky smooth shot. He and the 9th pick would be a good starting point.

Not a big Buddy Hield fan. He has more the $60,000,000 remaining on his contract and plays no defense. Either Haliburton or Fox would be required.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread pt. 2
If/when a trade goes down I don't think it's going to be a trade both fan bases think is fair. One fan base or the other is going to hate it based on how they value the player. Opposing fan bases think Simmons should be had for a bench player and a couple 2nd rounders and Sixers fans want all-star or bust.
Someone's going to wind up extremely disappointed.

The Kings starting 5 was the worst defensive lineup in the NBA this season
Their bench mob was the second worst
Good luck paying Hield & Barnes $20 million + p.a.
Might as well trade Jo as well if that’s the case

If Morey gets fleeced by the Kings or the Wolves we need to fire him on the spot. Both those teams are run by his former assistant GMs and the optics of him gifting those teams Simmons to his buddies Monte McNair and Gersson Rosas would be awful.

I think it's pretty likely that if he gets traded it's going to be a three way deal. Maybe not literally but there will be different things flipped around.

SAC gets Simmons and Milton
OKC gets Haliburton, 9, 2023 PHI 1st, and protection removed from 2025 owed PHI 1st
PHI gets SGA, Wright, and Hield

Right, but pairing him with Lowry and Danny Green certainly helps. And it brings Curry off the bench and adds another volume 3pt shooter to space the floor.Lovetron Joe wrote:51X3RF4N wrote:Ok here it is folks...

I think if you make a deal with the Kings it would be Fox & Hield, have to imagine Sac wants to get rid of that crap contract. Give them a pick and Shake.
Fox, Hield for Simmons, Shake, #28.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread pt. 2
Lowry is declining year over year.
He is 36 years old by the playoffs.
He is a free agent.
He could be easily be had if you reach his salary demands and send a weak first to the raptors. You dont get value in a sign and trade.
Ben Simmons return needs to be an all star under 30 or an exception could be made for Lillard and Harden (both are unrealistic).
Otherwise we keep him. Do not trade a 3 time all star who is just turning 25 who we have 4 years of team control on for the pupu platter.
Beal. SGA. Fox. Maybe Lavine. Thats it.
Otherwise they can kick rocks.

We finally have a legit superstar and you guys want to trade him instead of trying to put a playmaking star next to him? This is not going to happen so not worth discussing
