How many FRP does Houston need to add to Wall to get Simmons?

This could be a perfect solution. Get Wall to help win this season and he becomes walking trade filler for other guys like Lillard looking for trade over the next couple seasons

If Houston didn't want Ben last year, why would they want him this year?

Houston won’t add any of their own 1sts. They will add Milwaukee’s and Brooklyn’s. No thanks.

I do see a possible trade here, though Simmons isn’t going to Houston.

Harris, Prince, Beverley, 2024 MIN 1st, and 2028 MIN 1st to HOU
Simmons to MIN
Wood, Wall, 2022 MIN 1st, and 2026 MIN 1st to PHI
It is highly unlikely that the Sixers will agree with your Ben Simmons evaluation for the purposes of a trade.

The price dropped from James Harden to John Wall and stuff.

- They didn't want Morey to get Harden.
- They thought Oladipo and 4 FRP was better than Simmons but the gamble on Oladipo did not pay off.

Plus things have changed now need playmaking coming back for Wall when they only needed an SG to replace Harden.
Now they have Green and KPJ. A playmaking wing is the best way to allow these guys to see the floor together. Simmons firs their team like a glove.

KPJ, Green, Tate, Simmons, Wood is a pretty perfect team for Houston.

Simmons is one of the few players that will let them comfortably play KPJ and Green.

Wall was terrible for Houston

Only thing he did was prove his fitness

I still don't think they'd be interested, unless that something was a single pick.

You're right, but I think the dynamic did change from last year when they didn't want him.

They didn't view Simmons as a franchise piece to build your team around. But if they think Jalen Green is that guy and that Simmons can help facilitate Green's development into superstardom, it could be a move they warm up to.

To turn Wall into Simmons definitely requires the full set of 4 1sts and 3 swaps, though. The only team that seems willing to make that kind of draft pick commitment is Minnesota. Here I saved Minny those swaps, and gave Houston two 1sts and another asset they can pump and dump.

If this was actually the prevailing thought around the league, the clown would have been traded months ago.

Thing is, Morey wants the return for this “clown” to be as valuable as if this report is fair (and it can be, it’s debatable)

How do they have Brandon Ingram falling 3 slots in a re-draft when he's developed into a near perfect offensive player?

Exactly… and that’s why he’s still here collecting dust, because that article is a crock of ****.

Teams would have no problem ponying up for a legit 25 year old star locked in for 4 years.

How much of that is the league, and how much of that is Morey waiting for a star though?

This is a quick overview of their picks. I've bolded the ones Philly should get

2022 Houston first-round pick
2022 First-round selection from Brooklyn OR Miami (top-14 protected), whichever is higher

2023 Houston OR Brooklyn first-round pick, whichever is higher
2023 Milwaukee first-round selection
2024 Brooklyn first-round pick
2025 First-round pick from Houston, Oklahoma City, OR Brooklyn (Oklahoma City can swap its 2025 1st for Houston’s first-round pick, top-10 protected; after that is decided, Houston can swap whatever pick it has for Brooklyn’s selection, if desired)
2026 Brooklyn first-round pick

Meh. Color me less than excited about all of those except Houston’s own pick this year.

If they can incorporate a Harris for Wood deal into it, I’d consider it though.

That’s valid, but let’s be honest, it’s been pretty clear for about a month now that Dame was staying in Portland for atleast one more year (there has never been any credible evidence to support Beal, Lavine, whoever were ever close to leaving).

Maybe because a nearly perfect offensive player has never been in the playoffs? I mean I like BI, but winning means a lot in these ratings.
