…..after all this, does he catch any break from Philly? Him showing up and going about his business at least ain’t weak.
(Funny thing is, he’s still just an attitude change from being really good.)

He hasn't made any public comments so maybe he does.

everyone just keeps believing the social media rumour peddlers.

I would definitely give him props for showing up in light of all the drama.

I’d also be very tempted to spam several other forums with less than polite emojis for all the crap this off season… but I won’t. (As a moderator on this forum I would also encourage you to not do that  )

I want him to show up, obviously. It’s better for our team. And, actually, I think he will.

Edit: no, I have no idea if he will

At this point I would take bets that Ben does not know if he is showing up either.

On one hand you have Paul telling him he is a star and a trade is coming.
On the other hand....maybe just maybe the fact that he has not been traded yet shows him there is not a big market for him. And maybe the thought of losing money....money he won't get back is not so appealing to him.

It would be great if Morey has said to Paul in one of their meetings with Ben present. I am going to try and make a deal for Ben. If you want, as his agent, you can go out there and see what kind of deals you can cook up too. And both Morey and Paul have not been able to generate anything. Now that would be a reality slap in the face of Ben that he could not ignore.

There will have to be a strategic PR campaign to get him back out there with Ben having an about face moment on camera about loving Philadelphia, etc, etc.

I don't know if that is in Morey, Doc, Ben, or Rich Paul's wheelhouse.

Less said the better. Kate Fagan won’t be around to do any serious digging. So videos of Ben scrimmaging with the team, along with a few boilerplate comments might be about all the actual news we get, while opinions will fly, and die. (Hopefully)

If the idea is to have Ben play as a Sixer again, then silence is absolutely not on the table. Our fans, like most fanbases, are extremely stupid and look for blood when they feel jilted. The last game of last season was Ben completely **** down his leg and then a tumultuous offseason where he's reported to say he'll never play another game in Philly again. As you can imagine, our fans will not take kindly to this and Ben will not set himself up to be crucified by the fans (unless he's in another jersey).

I do think they can get the media grab if Ben comes out and says something. I fully don't expect it, but there is certainly a message he can impart on the fanbase that will galvanize them rather than anger.

I bet this has happened. The issue is, what was the result? Is that why all the rumors of Morey asking too much got leaked? Did, for example, Klutch find a deal with San Antonio, but then Morey came behind and asked for more and blew it up?

Morey never had any intention of breaking down Simmons into smaller parts and picks. That could be the elephant in the room.

I think the only way for Simmons to get some level of respect from fans is for him to come back and play while holding two middle fingers up. He’s at rock bottom and nobody respects him. The only way to recover is to go out and play like a selfish prick jacking up shots and doing whatever he wants on the court.

Ironically, that’s what we’ve been begging him to do for years and would boost his trade value. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will ever happen because he’s just not capable of that mentality. More likely he’d refuse to shoot out of spite and it’d be a disaster for all parties.

If Ben comes back, and this is a BIG if, he should be promptly shown the door. Things could and likely will get ugly... and unless he shows everyone he's been doing something -- anything -- to hone his craft, he ought to be sent packing.

He's going to have to do more than just show up in camp.

He's going to have to make some carefully crafted public statements shedding some of his arrogance and he's going to have to show some added dimensions to his game offensively. Otherwise, it's non-stop heat all year for him.

He will turn up if Morey fails to secure a trade

It will be same as always and then he will be traded at some point during the season

Love to see him completely ignore the media during his remaining time as a Sixer as it will drive people nuts

I think this prob happens. Simmons doesn’t have the leverage, so he reluctantly comes back, and puts no effort into rehabbing his image here, because he wants to be traded anyway. The Sixers chose to go this route, so they will end up being responsible for explaining why they still have a player who doesn’t want to be here, since Ben won’t put on a show. Ben will play and give silent treatment, and get traded by the deadline. Maybe by Christmas.

While he can’t handle the heat, Klutch will explain the heat is what they need to get him traded. He might want to be public enemy so the team gets more motivated to move him.

He will show up and some injury will come up that he will sit out with for an indefinite amount of time. Maybe he has some elective surgery like Nerlens did or Kyrie threatened to do with the Cavs. There's a playbook here.

If he plays it will be like the end of Iguodala's run here where there is always going to be some portion of the people at the games that get on him whenever he screws up.

It’s gonna to be back stiffness. We see the excuses coming a mile away. He actually missed a ton of games last season (compared to his first two seasons). He would have missed a lot of games 2019-2020 season with the back also but got saved with the shutdown.

Yo we got Charles Bassey...I'm not worried about Ben at all at this point. Embiid better watch his ass too.
