The silver lining to a two game losing streak before the deadline is that we know that this team is ill-equipped to handle a zone, which I'm fairly certain that it will see in the playoffs at some point. Morey and company have a chance to correct it. Whether or not they actually do remains to be seen.

Jason Kidd out there exposing Doc for being totally incapable of adjusting to their zone. We all had to watch the slow kill tonight.

This was a Tobias disappears game. Only 8 shots, not much else. Without a lot of penetrators on the team, Tobias needs to attack down hill.

33 points in the 2nd Half and another double digit lead blown. The whole team was freezing against the zone. Doc kinda sucks, but our lack of ball handlers/passers aside from Maxey(Still inexperienced) really showed tonight and it’s honestly been our issue the past several years.

Tobias is probably one of the worst players against zone defenses. His lack of quick decision making was really showing tonight.

lol we couldn’t even figure out how to combat zones with Brett here. It’s always gonna be an issue until the personnel improves (Crossing my fingers for Harden lol)

Lots of over passing instead of shooting and failing to weakside rebound. When Tobias is that hesitant and teams are cheating passing lanes it almost felt like putting in the twin towers with Andre at the foul line and Embiid down deep roaming the baseline might be effective.

Lack of athleticism overall and penetration by anyone other than Maxey is exacerbated by too many perimeter crosses and not enough guys cutting to the basket. Must have an attack mentality, selfish is good against the zone. Mia good knew it, he was the only perimeter guy other than Maxey that attacked towards the basket. I’m honestly not all that worried about losing Curry in a big trade, he is incredibly easy to defend at times.

Even if Curry survives the big trade, he would have to be sacrificed to get some perimeter defensive help.

If we could chop up Harris contract for some usable deals we might be able get away with Curry coming off the bench but that doesn’t seem likely.

I can't really be upset because before the game I was about 90% sure they were going to lose it. Even at half time up 10 I honestly thought about 2/3 chance they were going to lose it because the Mavericks were horrible in the first half and stuck around. I honestly didn't see a 36 point half coming though I mean come on now lol. They have too many good offensive players to only score 36 points in a half. The Mavs have a good defense but they were missing there two best defensive big men in Porzingis and Kleber. We make a good Simmons trade at the dead or somehow make a really good side deal involving other players or its a coin flip whether we can win even one playoff series. Honeslty if we don't improve the team at the trade deadline is probably best for my sanity if I check out on this season.

Green, Joe and Thybuille played 69 minutes and combined made one three pointer in 10 attempts. That is pathetic production around Embiid. We really should have made a play for Powell who is a consistent veteran knocking down 3s at a 40% clip.

Kidd’s appointment was roundly criticised but he has the Mavs playing good defence & Luka being more team oriented
