Lmao, time to take a pick away from them.

Not gonna happen. Morey should count himself lucky if it only costs two 2nds to get that ~47M TPE.

The owner down there is crazy enough to be a dick just to screw the Sixers. And Adam Silver will back them up until Jo is gone and he never hears about The Process again.

For winning the trade handily... Morey really ****** up the Ben trade terribly. He really ought to be fired as well.

Good, I think it's best all around if he leaves. We need to go in a younger direction with our backcourt.

Assuming he leaves and we are able to pull off a sign and trade for the TPE when is the earliest that we can use it?

We can use it immediately and for 1 full year. I think it's to our benefit for it to be later instead of sooner, as having it late into free agency next summer when teams need to clear cap for free agents could be helpful.

I'd be shocked if he accepted, but crazier things have happened. Maybe once reality sets in that he really doesn't want to go to a tanking team in Houston he would accept such an offer though.

I think the highest we can safely go without too much regret is 4 years, ~$160 mil and the lowest is 3 years, ~$140 mil.

I still think 4yrs/$125m is the right offer. More than that and we'll regret it. 4/$160 is $40m per year. 4/$140 is $35 per year. I'd bank on one more good (fringe All-Star) year, one more playable (starter-level) year, and the last 2 years being a viable rotation player. At $35m+ per year, those last 2 years would hurt too much... as bad as Tobias' contract.

On the other hand, if we offer just a 2-year contract I think we could pay a whole lot more per year. Maybe even the max salary if it's just 2 years.

If he wants 4yr and $35m+ per year, I'd let him walk to Houston.

Bye bye loser.

You are going to be just fine with the Clippers, you are made for each other.

Embiid let him down and has proven that he cannot lead the team along with him to a title. They cannot win the championship together.

Makes sense for him to leave

Goodbye James
From the city of brotherly love thanks for playing for us.
Didn’t end the way we hoped but still was pretty good.

Harden like Butler was good here but not enough anything last two years with same result is insanity. So I don't understand why we still have Tobias here lol

Because Tobias was never a problem. He was also never the answer. Add that nobody wanted to trade for him and you have the reason as to why he's still here. It's really not that hard to understand why he hasn't been moved. It's different from James Harden. James Harden plays a position of need. Who wouldn't want the league assists leader on their team? Who wouldn't want a playmaking guard that can still get their own points at times? Harden is much easier to move than Tobias in that aspect.

Maybe they let each other down. Two high usage guys who's play drops off in the playoffs.

Does anyone have any ideas on why the Rockets would choose FVV over Harden? I mean Harden is older, but he has accomplished more in his career than FVV has. I have to believe that Harden has accumulated a lot of baggage over the last few years. And it's has come back to bite him in his ass. Also the way he left Houston was not done professionally and maybe the owner wanted to get some payback.

Harden might be mad at the 76ers right now. But he had an opportunity for an extension with the Nets that he turned down. And his agent could not sell him over FVV to the Rockets. Which purely from a playing standpoint is weird.

Say what you want about Harden (I'm not much of a fan), but he's the only star to ever force their way TO the Sixers.

Then again 15 months later he's forcing his way FROM the Sixers, so maybe the universe is back in its normal alignment.

tk, long time since I’ve seen you in these parts. (-:

I wouldn’t judge much either way by Harden, guy is a raging bull past his prime as a superstar but won’t admit it. He came here for Morey because he thought he could rule the roost and now that Morey won’t do that he wants to hang out in a more glam city with some other past their prime stars and potentially more of his favorite gentleman’s clubs. Simmons for Harden was young emo for an older one.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/tracy-mcgrady-rips-into-james-harden-for-requesting-trade-from-76ers-that-makes-zero-sense-to-me/

Tracy McGrady weighs in:

"I don't understand for the life of me what James Harden is doing," McGrady said in an interview with GQ. "Why are you trying to get out? That makes zero sense to me. Not only that, but I look at all the teammates he's played with. James has probably played with more Hall of Famers than anybody in the league, and he doesn't have a ring to show for it. I don't know what he's looking for. And maybe there's some internal bull that is going on that we don't know about. Because it doesn't make any sense to me to leave the MVP, and the Eastern Conference, where you have a shot to at least play for a championship. It's got to be something deeper than what you know. Get over it, man."

I think James might have his feelings hurt. It seems the 76ers and their fans are good with him leaving and the Clippers are cool with him playing for them, as long as they don't have to give up anything of value.

TMac had absolute trash around him in Orlando, so it’s not surprising he came to this conclusion.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
