Seth Curry and Andre Drummond Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Sixerscan » Sat Feb 12, 2022 2:59 pm

Neither were perfect players but played about as well as anyone could have hoped for coming in. Unfortunate they had to be in the trade but that's the business.

Curry became Redick 2.0 without the annoying podcast.

Drummond took a hit to his pride and backed up Embiid without complaint.

Hope they both get off Brooklyn soon and find good situations. Would welcome either back on the team any day.

I was kind of sad seeing them report for duty with the Nets.

These two guys will be linked together forever for two reasons. Both were in the Harden trade and (for some reasons) both wear baggy compression shirts under their uniforms.

Hated to see Curry go, and I agree that he would be welcomed back at some point. Drummond provided a solid Embiid backup, but I'm looking forward to seeing more of Bassey and Reed, which never would have happened. I'd rather develop a backup in house on a rookie deal than continuing to bring in vet rentals.

Hope we can get Seth back someday... He deserves to be on our team. Almost felt like it was home for him considering his NBA journey so far.

They were both great to have for different reasons. Prior to here, it seems like Drummond had been relegated to a bench role after being a franchise player. He provided just about everything we could ask for in a backup role with defense and rebounding. Now he gets a shot of anchoring the Nets defense, and he gets to play at home.

Curry was in a similar predicament. He earned his place as a starter in our rotation, and he gets to showcase his talent possibly in that role again. Happy for these guys, sad to see them go (and play for our rival).

Kudos to Morey for seeing their potential and building their value for us.

Seth was nice to space the floor but my god his D was Simply atrocious. I think once we can add a couple pieces he would be good coming off the bench.

Indifferent about Seth. Going to miss Drummond though.

The best part about Seth was him giving Mik the opportunity to drop a legendary quote:

Mik317 wrote:we are going to put Biid back in the game and then force feed him the ball as he bricks shots or turn the ball over as DeRozan and LaVine take turns searching and destroying Seth.

Both exceeded my expectations and seem to mesh well with everybody. They were welcome additions to the team. I'd wish them luck if they weren't on the Nets.

I absolutely hated the Drummond signing when it happened.....like 99% of this board lol

Guy shut me up, he had his problems (like when he tried to cosplay Jokic) but he delivered when it matters, look at that Memphis game.

I always was a Curry defender when he was criticized here, yeah he was a defensive problem, but our offense was sustained entirely in his game with Joel.

Even though I expected Curry and Drummond were likely to be included it still hurt seeing it actually happen. I've loved Curry and had wanted him on the Sixers all the way back to his Portland days. It was nice having a guy where every time he went up with it it felt like a bucket and I was more shocked when it didn't go in (Kork would be the Bizarro Curry).

Drummond, I grew to appreciate and enjoy watching a guy just seem to play b/c it was fun for him and who constantly kept us alive with some insane fingertip work to snare rebounds.

Thank you guys, I wish you both could have stayed, I hope you'll find your way back to us in time.

Going to miss both of these guys. Truly hope Seth rejoins us when his contract is up, but it'll be a pretty penny. If Drummond has to get another minimum contract I hope we snare him. That being said I think both of them will be making a lot more money their next contracts.

I remember I used to get into laker fans last year about Drummond how he actually was still useful and they convinced the GB he was some sort of bum.

That fanbase doesn't deserve good things. I was glad we signed him. I am sad to see him leave. He was the best backup Embiid has had in a long time. Curry hurts too because he'd be a perfect option as a sixman off the bench hopefully we bring in Shroeder and get a much lesser version of that.

They both came here, played their asses off and were incredibly professional and likable players and thoughtful gents off the court. Who knows, we may see an encore of one or both.

It's funny how there were actually people complaining about getting Drummond *FOR THE VETERAN'S MINIMUM NO LESS* when the signing happened.

Dude could have been literally last guy on the bench and it still would have been good value. He actually gave and performed much better than I expected even with thinking it was a good value signing.

Wish we could've kept at least one of them, although they are starting for the Nets tonight....both are better in a bench role.

I really liked what Seth brought to the team but I still didn't like him starting cause I still see him has a bench player on a championship team.

Seth is def a pro and good team player. Can’t say I’ll miss his on court action though. His defense made him unplayable IMO.

Will def miss Drummond. Wish we could’ve completed the trade without giving him up.

They both outplayed their salaries. Good luck to them.
