Sixers currently ranked 10th on offense and 9th on defense

Feels like everything is aligning well on both sides on the ball. He gets a lot of flack for his stubbornness and personality, but Dr. Glenn has done a good job with this team all year. Keeping them together during the Simmons fiasco is a major accomplishment.

Their offensive ranking will skyrocket by the end of the year. They were an above average offense all year, playing with no PG. Now they have Harden.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

More than the Offensive and Defensive rankings, the thing that gives me the most optimism is that they all seem desperate to prove something this year. Just like Milwaukee last year, they are the team that's like "it's now or never".

Perk made a great point a few weeks ago. He said James Harden got fed up with the Nets and asked to be traded, but didn't ask to go out West, "he told them to trade him to the 76ers, because he wasn't afraid of playing the Nets in the playoffs."

They are first since the break by 4+ points

6th in defense too somehow despite last night's atrocity of a first 18 minutes.

Believe it or not, we're trending up on defense.

Harden pushing everyone down a peg in the pecking order has freed up their energy distribution to be allocated more on the defensive end. Maxey, in particular, has ramped up his defensive impact (his steal percentage has been 2.7% since the trade).

I've noticed it with Maxey and Tobias especially.

The defense was definitely a concern after the trade, but Doc has played it beautifully IMO. Clearly changing Maxey and Tobias roles to focus more on that end. It's almost like Tobi is asked to do his best to TRY and do what Simmons did for the team providing versatility... You could see it immediately with him guarding Kat instead of Joel.

They switch 1 -4 a lot, but not with Joel. So that he can protect the rim and they can be more aggressive. They should do the same on the bench with DAJ.

But defensively is what I'm watching, and for it to start off so well, is really a surprise to me.

Keeping Matisse and Maxey in the starting lineup was not certain for many folks here, and now it seems like the only choice in the aftermath. Adds the needed athleticism that they need there. Just on defense alone, and of course for a pf Tobias adds some quickness.

No Seth Curry...

Yeah as much as I'm frustrated w/his offense, I see good effort on D from Tobi. He needs to hang his hat on that end when the Big 3 are on the court.

We hold the Cavs to 48 points in the second half which is great, but the Cavs offense is basically Garland and his dstribution ability.

Outside of that we have played two bad teams. I think our defense is gonna look really bad when we play a really great offensive team, that's one of the real tests before the playoffs.

Minnesota has the 8th best Offensive rating. The 76ers already played a great Offense, and held them 10 under their average.

Towns played horribly though trying to force and prove a point and Russell is an easy matchup for hiding hidden flaws. Not sold on the defense... offence yeah probably number 1 would be my guess lol. When they get more comfortable the scoring is just going to come in droves.

Embiid, Harden and Maxey as we’ve seen can score a lot in very little time.

The expected margin of victory against the Cavs was seven and the Sixers won by six.

Yea I believe the offense will go up but the defense is just not good from what I have seen
