Rumor has it that's why Harden didn't sign his opt-in.

We don't need Beal. We need Length defense and rebounding.

When Thad Young and Roco take paycuts to come back home and ringchase >>>
Harden/Maxey
Beal/Joe
Covington/Thybulle
Young/Niang
Embiid/Bassey
we won.

No Maxey. But if we can do a package based around Tobias I'm all for it.
Get back one of their PF's in the deal also.

I’ll leave it to Morey to pull it off. Like James Harden if Bradley Beal is communicating to Morey he wants to join the team — guess what will happen next year.

I doubt it's true, but if it is, you have to do it. The Sixers would have the best offense since the Warriors with Durant. It would be absolutely unstoppable. And then Morey finds out a way to fill out the roster with their exceptions and hope guys take pay cuts to sign here to chase rings.

What's the point of Beal and the terrible contract he will get when we have Embiid and Harden. We dont need volume scoring.

"Philly's desperate obviously to try and get rid of Harris anyways... they have been for a while"

I dunno man that would be tough to stop & At this point of his career I think James Harden is happy being a playmaker. That’s the way it appears to me so far.

Retweet. the fit makes sense as long as you put straight defenders around them.
Harden is the point god & playmaker, Beal is the bucket, Embiid is the inside presence. And all three of them can thrive on or off the ball.
After watching... Josh Richardson, Al Horford and Tobias Harris play on this team for big money, I am not saying no to Bradley **** Beal.

I don't really get how S&T's work. Like I know the decision is in the players hand, and if Beal goes to Tommy Sheppard and Ted Leonsis and says "I want to go to Philadelphia" - the Wizards and Morey would have to come to an agreement on compensation.
Could they demand Maxey? Or could we finesse this like how the Heat got Butler for Richardson 1 for 1.

If Beal demands Philly, the Wizards could tell him to pound sand and walk somewhere else where they have open cap room since we don't have any.
That's what I would do instead of taking back Tobias unless I got a massive haul of picks and prospects. First ask is Maxey which would obviously be shot down.
If they're afraid to "lose Beal for nothing", maybe they agree on Tobias plus minor incentive (1st and Springer?). But they have a glut of PF's already (Kuzma, Hachimura, Avdija), so that's an issue. I'd like to get one back in the deal, but then we need to add even more.
My odds on this happening: under 5%

Re: Beal wants to join the Sixers?
If we believe in Maxey's trajectory, I expect him to get the 25% MAX 2 summers from now.
Having 3 other MAX deals on the books makes that problematic. At least Tobias expires when Maxey needs to get paid.
Unless the ownership is willing to pay hundreds of millions in luxury taxes ala GSW, I don't see it.

I agree. I wouldn't want him. He's an overrated volume scorer, who can't guard anybody and isn't nearly the perimeter shooter that people seem to believe. I'd roll with Maxey, before Iwould ever consider paying Bradley Beal 30-40 million per.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Re: Beal wants to join the Sixers?
There's a lot of amalgamating rumors to this story that are all coming back full circle.
(and it probably won't end up happening)
- Harden doesn't opt in because he 'plans to take a pay-cut this upcoming FA period to give the Sixers another max slot' by Lowe like before he'd even stepped on the court here.
- Then the wiretap article about how Embiid lobbied to get Beal before Morey eventually pulled the strings on Harden
- And now this 'inside scoop' from Bogut.
Fun little rumor.
Beal fits this team really well, imo as long as the pieces around them make sense. He's strong and an underrated man defender. He's in his athletic prime at 28, and an upgrade defensively on Maxey. Beal was a 2+ steal & block percentage guy at Florida Stateand has flirted with a 2% steal rate in the NBA over the course of his career which is solid.
His shooting numbers have fallen a bit, bit contextually you can see the moment his numbers fell from being a ~40% guy on volume was when he shifted from being the #2 option that was having his 3's assisted by John Wall at an 85+% rate to him burdening a lot more of the shot creation load when he became the lead option.
He isn't my #1 target, and wasn't when we were trading Ben either, but if Morey finds a way to exchange Tobias' contract for Bradley Beal I'm doing that every day of the week.

Do we have a legitimate route to major (max I guess) cap space if we pay someone to take Tobias?

No we don't. It's not possible to get Beal w/out a S&T.
