Two great signs from this one in my opinion:

1) With Embiid and Harden out against the Heat, Maxey and Harris made key fourth-quarter baskets to win that game. With Embiid and Harris in against the Lakers, they did the same thing. This team will be awfully tough to defend if there are four options for scoring in the clutch. Five if you count Niang's ability to hit catch and shoot threes in that situation.

2) The Sixers are solving the issue of the blitzing double-teams on Harden with easy baskets in the paint. It was important that they found a way to start making teams pay for that approach.

Team is still a construction zone.

Glenn is likely not the right coach for what they need, either, but they won't get rid of him until two more playoff flameouts at the earliest.

In the meantime, let's just hope Jo can get MVP and 1st team All-NBA this year. With those boxes checked, he will fully turn his attention to winning a ring going forward.

Wow. That is reminiscent of the photography of Sports Illustrated way (way) back when that was a great magazine.

It would be really, really nice if the Sixers had 3 all stars next year.

And one less "should be an all-star".

Can't And1 this enough.

If you add up all the Lakers moral victories the media give them they'd be at least .500

On a serious note I hope this team has a switch defensively somewhere because I just don't see it. The hope at this point is overpowering teams offensively. So these last stretch of games they have to get their offense more decisive and shake and furk to build on confidence while Niang stays hot.

Offense is good and will get better, especially with role players starting to perk up. Defense is bad and will be tough to keep overcome against a really good team.

I think the best case playoff route would be us getting the 4 seed then play CHI, Miami, then Brooklyn/Boston/Milwaukee is the ECF. I think there’s a chance we could beat one of those 3 teams but don’t like our odds of beating 2 of them.

The way Miami is leaking oil I'm not so sure they will get the 1 seed. Whatever seed gets us CHI or CLE first is optimum, but my main concern is much more with resting Embiid and especially Harden. I know the guys need more reps, but Harden just doesn't look healthy, and 4-5 games off would be a great idea.

Watched parts of the game earlier. That was one ugly ass win.

Maybe Stanford is onto something ......
