Win as many games as you can and end up where you end up,don't worry about who we may face.

I just don’t like the idea of dropping seeds to avoid a certain team. Doesn’t speak well to the psychology of the team/organization. Also, this is the Sixers so I don’t want to tempt the basketball gods who might give us a devastating 1st round loss to the Raptors to spite us.

Do teams ever tank games for matchups? I understand fans talk about that or teams might rest their players to get ready for the playoffs, but has there been a time when a team clearly tanked for a matchup?

Memphis tanked on purpose to play the Spurs the year they beat them on the playoffs.

There are several similar examples

Milwaukee - 6th
Miami - 19th

We have 0 excuses not to get the #1 seed.

I don't see Boston tearing up the league for the past two months and then suddenly playing barely above .500 to finish the season, with the #1 seed in their sights.

Initially thought the same, but they have the toughest schedule remaining and RWIII is out for the season.

Tonight is a B2B @ TOR, then @ MIL and @ MEM at the end of the season seem like extremely difficult W's to come by.

True, and something also to consider in this equation is whether teams will be resting players for those final games if winning or losing does nothing to change their seedings. Of course we won't know that in some cases until those games come along.

There's the seed we need to shoot for.

If we didn't learn from last year that doesn't work, not sure what it'll take. We had the dream draw and spit the bit.

Celtics starting their entire second unit tonight. Not sure if they're tanking to get out of the #1 seed or what's going on.

We need to take a page out of that book, but not for tanking or seeding purposes.

Any team that can get the #1 seed and doesn't try to get it with everything they have is foolish in my opinion. Again, the crux of the matter is whether you want to play a game seven in the playoffs in the opposing team's arena. I for one wouldn't.

78.5% of home teams have won playoff game sevens in NBA history. Losing just a single late-season pivotal game could make you just 21.5% likely to win a playoff game seven.

No team is going to avoid #1 seed on purpose. All top 4 team all playing for wins, while resting players at times (just like the Celtics did tonight) on a B2B.
