I missed the game so I couldn’t see what you guys did. Highlights showed the Embiid PNR with Harden was working which is the most important thing. Niang hit a few. Embiid shot awesome. If that keeps up look out. The end looked like Harden hit a floater and got some free throws. This win was important. Take it.

Harden is like Westbrook now with his fake triple doubles

He stepped up when it mattered by delivering a key basket, assist and free throws in crunch time. That's why we acquired him.

Maxey needs to be the primary ball handler in the halfcourt. Limit the ISO's for Harden.

Maxey isnt close to the passer Harden is the offense would be worse. Also, what are all these iso you talking about Harden shot the ball 13 times. Harden won't keep shooting this bad. Where were you when Harden scored 30 on 17 shots against the Bucks and Tyrese was garbage? Fyi Tyrese wasnt particularly good tonight either. Not to make it James versus Tyrese guys have bad nights. The problems with this team are not either of those guys its an awful coach and one of the worst benches imaginable. Another 40+ minute game for Harden.

Trap Harden and Embiid, let Harris or Thybulle take 3.
Drive to the rim lure Embiid to the rim, let Markanen take 3

What good is having Harden or Embiid if it will lead to a 3pt shooting battle of Markanen and Thybulle/Harris?

I have been critical of harden as any of his fans has been but I thought he stepped it up in the fourth especially after a terrible first half.

Glenn went away from the Niang/Green pairing with Embiid/Harden/Maxey that worked so well against Charlotte. Having Harris and Thybulle as your corner 3's is a recipe for disaster.

Can you imagine if we traded Maxey for Harden's broken down ass

Dreaming about the alternative scenario where we traded Ben for Haliburton.

Everybody is ripping Harden, but the man stepped up when it counted. Isn't that exactly why we got him? Yeah, it was pretty tough to watch early, but he delivered with the money on the table. 'Fake' triple double? I'll take those with a win every night.

In full agreement here. That was precisely the kind of win this team needed. A successful gut check in the clutch against an inspired team.

I think they need to vary it. If teams are expecting Harden to be the lone player the offense is run through in the clutch, they can plan accordingly. They should vary it and alternate it between Harden and Maxey so that other teams have to diversify their defensive approach. And that can also be a function of who they have defensively. Have Maxey available for and accustomed to that role so that the team can exploit lesser defenders who may be guarding him in any given game.

The bench came fairly strong again scoring more than 20 points, this is the recipe for winning!

There is nothing better than listening to the opposition's broadcast of the game. Just hearing them hyping up their team only to have their hopes and dreams squashed it's magic.

In the 18 games in which Harden has played, 89% of the variance in the team's point differential (margin of victory or defeat) has been explained by things other than bench scoring. Bench scoring explains a mere 11% of the variance in the team's point differential during that period.

If someone knew only how much the team's bench scored in any one of those games, he would have a very difficult time determining whether it was a win or a loss and by how much -- that's how weak a predictive variable that is. And that's despite the finding that benches score more when teams are well ahead late in games, starters are removed for rest, and benches are then doing all the scoring (i.e., the Charlotte game this past weekend, when the Sixers' bench scored their final 24 points of the game after they'd taken a 120-88 lead with half the fourth quarter remaining).

Now, contrast that with what happens when we add the scoring done by Embiid, Harden, Harris, and Maxey to the bench scoring -- that figure jumps from a mere 11% all the way to 63%. Obviously how those four players score is far more predictive of how the team will perform than merely the bench alone.

Yes. But.. it should not end with a game where both spot up shooters take open 3s and the one who cant answer back loses. We shouldn’t allow Cavs to generate open 3s. Only us, because we have Embiid and Harden.

If the game decides to be a shootout and we would loss it should look something like Markanen making a heavily challenged 3 and Tobias or Thybulle missing a open corner 3.

We should have lock down defense or we might as well just have Seth than James Harden.
