From my unreliable recollection, I figure Joel has had only one injury/illness free post season with the team. He also missed the NCAA tournament for a back injury. Before fracturing his navicular sometime around the time he was filmed in that killer pre-draft practice. I believe he was healthy during the bubble season, when Ben went down just as he was starting to develop some front line play. I guess Jo was not especially motivated to help Brett hang on past the season. But I’d hate to think that was his one chance to to display the full dominance he is capable of.
There might be enough history with injury and health to do an analysis of what modifications to his game, behavior and lifestyle might maximize his odds for another healthy post season. He just had a broken finger attended along with the torn thumb. Could they have been prevented? Was his pre bubble stomach flu inevitable? I like to think we saw him flying through the air less this past season, since it invited a couple of players to put their hands on him and sabotage the landing. And I wish he was as cool with goggles as Kareem. I don’t know, but for all the money he costs, I’d hope for some consultation.

He needs to seriously forget about being the MVP or forget about the playoff success. For him it is not possible to have both.

Re: Does Embiid have a health and safety manager?
this was his healthiest year.
then Siakam hit him with the ooga booga and that was it.
The hand thing is something a lot of dudes deal with as I'd classify it as normal wear and tear. The Celtics are banged up right now in the finals...you can't avoid it.
The key is that other teams can survive bad outings from their best player...we can't. Tatum shot like I did today playing basketball....he moved to a more passive role as Brown took over the main scoring load and Horford stepped up. Thats why we traded for Harden...but he wasn't able to take over and Maxey is still too passive. This playoffs has shown that you can't put all your eggs into one basket. Miami beat us as our best guy was a corpse and no one else was able to step up...then got beat because Jimmy couldn't solo the Celtics. When Biid doesn't have it for whatever reason, we have no answer still...and just force it to him anyway. Harden cant create space on his own and needs Biid as a release valve to do so...and again if he doesn't have it...then who gives a **** lol. Jokic is the back to back MVP...and yet without Murray to give defenses a different look...he hasn't won **** either.
Biid can be better. I think he lives too much off of getting calls that he simply won't get in the playoffs and takes too long to make decisions allowing the doubles to come. I also think that he needs to trust his teammates more and work more as a finisher than trying to create everything on his own. I also think the MVP stuff is overblown. Its not like he's out there chucking and padding stats IMO...I don't remember his quest for the MVP costing us any games this year. He already said he doesn't think load management works and it has a negative effect on his body so I doubt that happens this year as well so lol

Health was barely a headline for Joel this year. He took a late shot from Siakam, but came back hungry and played fairly well in games 3 and 4.
Promptly after losing MVP, emo playoff Embiid showed up to game 5. That's where the series was decided. Joel needs to perish his playoff alter ego if we're going to get past the 2nd round.

He is a bright enough guy. I thought when he pouted during the bubble year to move Brett along, it wasn’t optimal, but understandable. But you make a good point. The MVP thing would have been cool, but if his emotions got in the way, he still needs a little more growing up.

He was hurt against Washington last season trying to do some superman stupid ****. This year he took a bow from Siakam and it was right after he did the "airplane" so in a way, karma bit him in the ass. He definitely needs to mature more and work on staying more focused in the game. He has to stop the pouting and he has to quit worrying about what others think of him. I've been saying it. The first year that this team is fully healthy for a playoff run will be the year we make it to the Finals.

He pouted all season because Brett didn't want Jimmy and Jj Redick left. Plus he really didn't like the Horford signing either, Which makes me think Morey is going to do everything possible to get Bradley Beal in a few weeks. Joel wants Beal and I think they're gonna be a lot of disappointed fans when Maxey gets included in a deal for Beal.

Embiid has matured drastically, probably since the KAT fight. Do I approve how Embiid was flexing? No. I'd rather him stay more reserved and throw a comment in the post game presser if he felt compelled to talk any trash. But let's not record "karma" as some detriment to Embiid's character. Siakam is a trashy competitor who committed a trashy foul. Chalking it up to karma/Joel's maturity level is silly.
The overwhelming majority of pro athletes would be having their ACL's exploding if there was karma for celebrating. NFL receivers celebrate like they caught a Super Bowl winning TD when it's a 15 yard reception in the second quarter of a Week 4 game. Plenty of NBA players are just as bad after a dunk, all season long.

His coach, his ego and his GM are his health and safety manager.
Coach and GM should take away his load on defense.
GM should structure a team that can live without him.
His ego should sincerely have a championship or bust mindset
We then need to determine many seasons is our window to run Embiid-Harden duo, after we win a championship.
Personally, I’d restructure the team immediately.
