Game 1 - Opening Night: 76ers @ Celtics October 18 - 7:30 pm ET on TNT - Gamethread

Post#1 » by eyeatoma » Mon Oct 17, 2022 9:44 am

Looking forward to this one. 1st game of the season, road to the Chip. Imo we're a true contender health withstanding.

Does Maxey make another leap?

Does Harden look better than last year?

Jo going for MVP?

Boston will be interesting, can they continue their dominance with all the drama?

Feel like the city has a lot of energy with the Eagles undefeated and Red October in full swing with the Phillies. Hope we feed off of that energy to start the season even though this is in Boston.

Phils are on at 8 so this is going to call for a lot of preparation. 2nd TV to watch both and setting up the treadmill in viewing distance to deal with the anxiety of opening night and playoff baseball.

Shame that this feel-good offseason has to end. There is much disappointment to come, my old friend.

They’ve been starting White in preseason, with Brogdon and/or Grant Williams presumably finishing. They’re a lot smaller without Rob Williams for the first few months and Theis. Hopefully they don’t hit a million threes and Sixers can dominate around the rim.

Good early test to see if our bench or wing depth can hold up against an elite team. I feel pretty comfortable with our offense because no Robert Williams but I’d like to see how our defense holds up.

Excited on..

How our rotation would be..
how would we look against the Celts defense..
How we’d take advantage of our depth..
how Tucker, Melton and House addition will help us against Tatum and Brown (Hollinger said our team matches very well with Celts and Bucks, thats why he had us coming out of the east)..

And at the same time im not THAT excited because its RS. RS is BS.

While Celts are not 100% without Galo and Timelord.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

No Robert Williams junior to protect the pain means Embiid should be killing every Celtics big man on the low block instead of shooting jumpers.Horford is simply not big enough or quick enough to go with Embiid.

The Celtics have a ton of wing defenders to throw at harden and Maxey. Ultimately it will come down big Embiid

 22 years as fan, definitely getting up there, but don't feel "too old for this sheet" yet. That being said, there's always something lol.

How should I feel after we lose by 20 and Harden only takes 7 shots?

How do you out of state fans watch the games? Looking for the cheapest option

I mean, there are basically two options, right? You either find a stream or you pay for League Pass.

Yeah Harden is my biggest concern. Just give us Nets or first 5 games in Philly Harden and I'm happy.

It will be interesting to see if any trolls come around after we stomp the Celtics and then the Bucks. What could they possibly say? Embiid will be our early bulldozer then Maxey will start teeing off in the middle. Our defense will shut the door on them. No more bench bleeding to be seen. Harden will orchestrate a nice game and keep the defense honest. This is what I have been waiting for. It’s been the longest offseason I can remember. Iam stoked!!
