Why did we seemingly pull the plug on in-house guys we've developed into their mid-20s? This is usually the point of their career where guys figure out how to contribute to winning.

And if the plan was to pull the plug on these guys, why the hell are they all still on the roster?

It's a rhetorical question, and it tells me that Morey knows that his work is clearly not done. I would be stunned if there aren't multiple moves made before the deadline.

Maxey and Embiid are the only 2 Sixers in the rotation right now. Every single other player is an acquisition. Might be part of the reason why the chemistry is a little off. Too much turnover and no continuity.

The rotations used with this team need to reflect an offensive plan. The personnel on the floor should reflect intentionality regarding who is going to score and how, and how the other players facilitate that effort.

Milton and Korkmaz right now could be the players on the floor in the following lineup for example:

Embiid
Tucker
Harris
Milton
Korkmaz

The intent with that lineup would be to get Embiid the ball, have him be double-teamed per usual, and have the other players on the court knock down shots. If Embiid isn't double-teamed, then he himself creates.

At other times the lineup might be this:

Tucker
Harris
House
Maxey
Harden

The intent with that lineup would be possibly a five-out scheme in which Harden penetrates and creates from the point, without Embiid's clogging the middle or diverting the approach by hogging the ball on the wing.

At any rate, there is room for these players if some creativity is implemented.

Because Milton and Korkmaz shooting has only got worse each year since their peak 3 years ago and Thybulle is the same player he was as a rookie and has 25 years.

It's not that difficult.

Daniel Hauskas is a clear downgrade from all of these guys. Melton has been okay, but he's tiny and has no lead G skills to make up for it. We were better off with the in-house guys, IMO.

How??, he's a better shooter and defender than Milton and Korkmaz.

I don’t think our final rotation is settled yet. My guess is one or two of the aforementioned guys will end up playing regular minutes.

At this point, we’ve got a lot of potential lineups/rotations, because we’ve got some pretty flexible guys positionally. It’ll take some time to figure out the right combinations.

Korkmaz (25 years old, in-house): 6'7" 202, 35.5% from three, 76.9% from free throw, 10.3% assist, 1.6% steal, 0.7% block
Milton (26 years old, in-house): 6'5" 205, 36.1% from three, 81.9% from free throw, 18.3% assist, 1.2% steal, 1.2% block
House (29 years old, acquisition): 6'6" 220, 36.4% from three, 76.2% from free throw, 7.5% assist, 1.3% steal, 1.5% block

Milton is RIGHT THERE with House, defensively. While being a far more skilled offensive player, overall. And House is not head and shoulders better than Korkmaz, either. Korkmaz is a better playmaker and better steal generator.

The only thing House has a significant advantage over on those two is strength.

This looks fine at the beginning but you also have to look at their trajectories.

House 3-point shoot has stayed above .35 since his Houston years on more volume than both Milton and Furk.

Furk has shoot on volume similar to house and his shot has fallen of a cliff since 2019, you can excuse the nerve injury but he still shoot worse in 2021 than in 2020 too.

Milton isn't even in the discussion in this regard, not only his shooting has gotten worse, his volume has also fell of a cliff.

Can Milton penetrate and create for himself? sure, he's also got worse at it. How we can now? he's trying more of that and less shooting and his efficiency has fallen of a cliff. Same for Korkmaz, he can create and distribute but he isn't getting enough respect when he drives so most of the time he passes to a guy that is guarded anyway.

They can do more stuff than House? sure, give me the guy who knows what he does well and is good at it tho

House has had the benefit of establishing that trail of consistently during his mid-to-late 20s stretch of his career. I'd like to see what Milton and Korkmaz can do in that age range.

Thybulle might be an interesting trivia question answer some day.

I think we need more time to evaluate. Not just the first 2 games against arguably the two best teams in the east.

Give it a chance. You can’t possibly be making a conclusion on 2 games played by House. Right now there’s a clear clash of system playing that is favoring a slow plodding pace (27th in pace). This is a direct result of the focus being getting Embiid his touches. House is a pace player and should play with Harden and Harrell or Tucker (5 spot). He’s a catch and shoot slasher in a pass friendly system. He should not be a dump out that requires him to dribble and handle the ball. Milton is similar but I would rather have House taking spot up 3’s. I would play Milton with Maxey running a second unit.

I'd like to see Shake get some backcourt minutes with Maxey to give them a secondary ball handler when Harden is off the floor.

I mean of course it'd be great if one of them actually proved something. Feels like waiting up at night to try to catch Santa Claus though.

Let's be real, Thybulle and Korkmaz stink, always have, and playing them isn't going to do anything.

If at any point during the season we reach "let's give Thybulle and Korkmaz a look" territory, the season is probably already doomed.

The Milton thing legitimately makes no sense to me. He's a legit well-rounded player. And he's a secondary distributor that would fit like a glove next to either one of our 6'2" non-PGs (Maxey and Melton).
