Josh Harris rumored to be leading candidate to buy Washington Commanders

Post#1 » by FireMorey » Tue Jan 17, 2023 5:35 pm

Based on reports from yesterday, it seems like Joshua Harris right now, is the leading candidate to buy the team. We'll see if he ends up buying it.

That would make 3 sports teams he owns if it ends up happening.

Thoughts?

Maybe this will mean he sells the Sixers?

One can hope.

Also, if I'm not mistaken he also owns Crystal Palace of the Premier League. So the Redskins Commanders would make 4.

Honestly curious if he even really cares about sports or just finds it a good investment. Google says they paid 270-290 mil for the 6ers. Gotta be worth like 2 billion these days? I read he would've offered 5 or 6 billion for the Broncos... more than they ultimately sold for

No individual should have access to this kind of wealth. Ridiculous.

This dude is about to buy an NFL team and our trade deadline move is going to be trading Furk for cap space so we can get under the tax line? F*ck this guy.

Sports team ownership is the ultimate in US oligarch capitalist ability to show off their wealth. You're a mediocre rich dude if you don't own a team. It's a big dck flex to show how much money they have now. Very gross.

Dont they do it for tax evasion?
Just as a lot of charities.

But in sports teams, they can eventually sell it or shares of it and make money out of it.

Josh Harris is OK. His goal is to drive up the value of this franchise by creating a contender. I kind of appreciate him after what i saw from this team by previous owners.

The most important metric i have for owners is how serious is he in creating a contender (check) and how much is he willing go spend (double check)

What I dont like from him is, I really believe he was the brain with all the moves from Hinkie. While Hinkie was just a front to take all the beating. Same fingerprint from his line of business to how the team was run to even to the fetish on bigs and not knowing anything about the game but just pure numbers.

Your country could do with a little class consciousness.

The shadow GM owner was supposedly the guy who left. David Heller.

Most owners below 70 yo are shadow GMs. Those above 70 year old are busy playing golf at palm beach making money from sports bettors

Or just don't be jealous? Lord knows I would like him to sell the team, but Harris' net worth shouldn't cause anyone to indignantly lose sleep.

Now if you want to complain about him dumping salary to avoid the tax, have at it should it happen.

North America loves the boot.

never thought I'd see the term class consciousness on this forum but I'm so glad I did.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably
