Cassidy Hubbarth dug for a chip on his big shoulder, but Joel smiled and complimented Jokic. Looks like he’s in a good place.

Will Embiid finally be healthy in the playoffs? because that's the thing that has been holding him back.

As long as the bench continues to hold our leads we won’t have to over play Embiid and Harden.

When do we play the Raptors next and can we keep Siakam far away from Embiid?

Well Jo said it himself. No freak accidents...What's honestly the best way to prevent any accident? By not doing stupid stuff. I'm not calling Joel Embiid stupid by any stretch. I'm not downing him or saying he can't take us all the way (he can). I'm am saying that every time he's gotten injured in the postseason, it's been because he was doing stupid unnecessary $hit.
Remember when we played the Washington Bullets two years ago? He hurt his knee showing out against Daniel Gafford. He got caught up trying to style on him in a game that we were well in control of at the time. Gafford had frustrated Embiid for a good portion of that game, but it wasn't necessary for him to have attempted that. Last year Doc kept him in the game later than he should have against the Raptors and he did the Airplane celebration and a play or two later coincidentally took an elbow from Siakam in the face that pretty much screwed our playoff hopes. He also hurt his thumb in that series which proved to be detrimental as well. I don't remember HOW he hurt his thumb, but I think it was trying to dunk the ball.
Again, if he just tones it down on the poster attempts and plays a smarter game, we're going to have him for a full playoff run. I will say this about him this season. He's not as reckless as he once was. This dude used to crash all over the place multiple times throughout a game. He's not doing that as much this year. Hopefully he stays with it.
As long as Embiid stays healthy, this team will have a chance. I've always felt that the minute we get a fully healthy, engaged, focused Embiid for a playoff run, will be the minute we are playing in the NBA Finals.

You need balance.
You also can’t play it too safe because of experience and momentum.
This team is run by professionals. They have mapped the entire season. Maxey delegated to the bench was not an accident. And eventually when we can beat teams with not pulling our A game with Maxey trying to finish them off, that would give some rest to our guys.
But until then, we can’t go full load management because the number 1 seed is just within reach.
And if Doc just finished off teams early in the fourth, this team wont learn how to play late games. Look at how composed we are on late games.
I wouldnt worry too much on “freak accidents” because the league and our team plays soft defense and just takes a lot of jumpshots. They have pretty much built in load management in the game to cater for these guys.
This game is mostly lay-up drills and shooting over defenders then its not until the last 6 minutes when they will turn it up on both ends. And there will be a time when we dont even need to turn it up on both ends In order to win games.

Don't forget to add Fultz smashing his face too!

You're right about all that, In the playoffs, everyone takes it to another level. Sometimes doing that gets guys hurt. In Embiids case, it's happened every year in the playoffs. Too much coasting in the regular season? I think getting accustomed to the drama and competitive nature of late game finishes will only better prepare us for the playoffs.

I think you can’t prevent it. Its just a matter whether its worth it push it or not.
Honestly, I find our 3-4 playoff stints as being unprepared more than just health reasons.
For instance for last year, I thought teams had not adjusted on the Biid-Harden PnR playing the Wolves, Knicks and so-so teams down the stretch. And we’re already showing signs of breaking when Raps switch that two man game with Achiuwa and Barnes. Then its further exposed when Tucker-Bam switch it, then eventually Harden cracked into pressure with those terrible TOs that eventually lead us to elimination.
Ben and Biid cracked into pressure in that Hawks series. There was 0 composure. When push comes to shove we realized that our second best option is SETH CURRY, and we had Ben with all his drama and frustrating play to make it worse.
I believe in “if there’s a way, there’s a will”, and not the other way around. And if our team really is prepared to win it, and believes they have a really good chance, these guys WILL push it despite most kinds of injuries.

Joel should wear the mask starting in March. Maybe take it off in 2nd round

Embiid: I own a lot of real estate in @andredrummondd head and I’m on my way to build more.
Welp it seems real estate is also a thing on this forum

Yeah I'm too old for this ****, well played sir, but you f'd up by your response to my original question about the 5 consecutive road wins for the Sixers. Certain stats matter in the grand scheme or narrative of things in the sports world, to a lesser point just ask Jokic stans

And then James Harden unexpectedly jumps on his back and causes Embiid to twist his knee and he is out of the season and the playoffs.

Not sure this team's identity revolves enough around defense for it to win a seven-game series against the best teams in the league.
