Sixers trade deadline thread - Feb. 9th.

There's no thread to talk exclusively trade deadline stuff, so what the hell.
The latest rumor from Jake Fischer is the Sixers' #1 target is Jarred Vanderbilt from the Jazz.
https://sports.yahoo.com/lakers-still-exploring-ways-to-improve-with-potential-russell-westbrook-deal-174912465.htmlVanderbilt’s name has also appeared amid the trade deadline conversation surrounding reserve big men, most notably with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told Yahoo Sports. While teams like the Indiana Pacers have viewed the 6-foot-9 Vanderbilt as an attractive option at power forward, Vanderbilt has been described by league personnel as a leading target in Philadelphia’s quest to fortify its frontcourt reserves behind Joel Embiid.

Pass on Vanderbilt for the simple fact that the acquisition would require Morey making a phone call to Ainge.

I like where their head is at since Vanderbilt is one of the most talented rebounders in the league, but I think our window to grab him closed when he was traded to the Jazz. Will prob cost too much.

I will say, however, if Morey thinks Vanderbilt can take Tobi’s spot when his contract is up, then it’s worth a little overpay.
He has Dennis Rodman (without the insanity) qualities to him. A Boston vs Philly series might call for a decent amount of Jarred + Tobi on Tatum and Brown. It definitely makes sense on this team. He’s also an underrated ballhandler and passer, particularly on fast breaks; something we struggle with.

Naz Reid seems perfect

The report out there earlier this week said that we're looking for a more traditional center. Which falls more in line with what we've done in the recent years behind Joel Embiid (Dwight Howard, Andre Drummond, and DeAndre Jordan).
264 pound Naz Reid has the physicality at the position that those other guys had and that seems to be what we want there.

Sorry had to do this. I know we are playing well..
Maxey + Tobi + picks for KD. With KD, I believe a ton of vets would want to join us.
Jimmy would be on the phone with KD if needed.
SL
Harden
Melton
KD
Tucker
Biid
Bench
Milton
Thybulle
Niang
Harrell
Reed
Vets via buyout

I’d be happy with Reid and/or Vanderbilt.
I like Vanderbilt’s ability to defend 3-5 a lot, but the downside is he won’t be able to really stretch the floor on the other end, as he averages < 1 3PA per 36.
Reid can space a little better, but his defense is suspect. Still an upgrade over Trez for sure though.
Is there a world where we get both using Korkmaz, Thybulle, and the CHA SRP?
Harden/Milton/Springer
Melton/Maxey
Tucker/Niang/House
Harris/Vanderbilt/Reed
Embiid/Reid/Harrell

If Sixers get Vanderbilt he should start at the 4 and put Tucker off the bench and also get Naz reid as back up 5 and 4

I’d prefer Vanderbilt because of his defensive versatility and motor. I’d be happy to get Naz Reid tho he’s a top tier back C.

Either one of those guys would be nice additions to the bench. We don't have a role for both.
Vanderbilt seems like he'd cost more than they'd be willing to give up.

Anyone with size and athleticism is welcome here. Vanderbilt makes sense. Haven’t looked at the contracts/players around but still holding out on my man HART

Interesting. I'll take Jalen Johnson and the Hawks 1st rounder.
Johnson won't make the playoff rotation this year. But neither was Thybulle.

If anything, I feel like Vanderbilt could be a long-term Tucker replacement. Different styles and skillsets but similar role on the team.

What ever Korkmaz,Reed, Springer and 2nds
Korkmaz is not needed with Niang and House here.
Reed needs to be upgraded.
Springer has no role here in future and 2029 pick is what ever. .

The Hawks don't really have any win now players whose money would match. My guess is the Hawks would give up a pick or picks that would be flipped for a player the Sixers want.

I was thinking something like-
Sixers trade: Thybulle, Korkmaz, Springer, and ‘23 2nd
Sixers get: Vanderbilt and Justin Holiday
Hawks Trade: Justin Holiday, Vit Krejci, and 2 ‘23 2nds
Hawks get: Thybulle and Korkmaz
Jazz Trade: Vanderbilt
Jazz get: Springer, Krejci and 3 ‘23 2nds
