Thank God. He's a bit of a corpse but had some stuff in the tank last season and anybody is an upgrade or Harrell.

I’m already getting ready to blame this one on the refs too.

Does anyone get cut or do they go with Dedmon, Reed, & Harrell behind Jo?

Wish we would release Trez but not likely considering he has a contract for next year.

He better be 3rd in the center rotation after Reed.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

So he is supposed to be better than Paul Reed?

Morey's signings have been about as inspiring as Doc's coaching. I'm disappointed. I was really hoping we were going to get some inventive moves at the margins. Cycle through some 2 way guys to find a diamond in the rough. Take some swings on upside guys. Instead he just brings in expired brand name products.

Hopefully there were no playing time promises made, because I think Reed has the better odds of being an effective postseason player.

Yes he's better. If you have watched the NBA the last years, you could know Dedmon has always been a decent NBA player. Nothing special, but he's ok. Should be good for some 10 quality minutes. He has length and experience. Not washed.

Great rim protector
-5% DFG% 2021-2022
-8.4% DFG% 2022-2023

Not shocking or exciting. The big man market was fairly bare and he provides a different archetype than Reed or Harrell. A good coach would use each according to the matchups that best suit them and it would be a decent signing in that way. More true center size, can move reasonably, has hit a few threes, but any offense is gravy if he rebounds and plays defense decently.

Note, I said a good coach would mix and match these three, not our coach, so, you know...

I really hope so, Miami fans say that he was trash. Also from a Liberty Ballers piece:

The Heat averaged 13.8 fewer points per 100 possessions while Dedmon was on the floor compared to when he was off. His minus-12.5 net rating was the worst of any Heat rotation member with more than 100 minutes this season.

The argument for playing Dedmon over Reed will likely fall between “he’s experienced” or “Reed fouls too much.” Dedmon is older — he’s 33-years old to be exact. But he also logged one of the highest foul rates in the NBA this season among bigs.

Most of the guys in the buyout market were low minute players this year, which makes stats wonky generally and all the more since they are rarely getting regular time with a consistent and stable crew of teammates.

I like the fit of Reed with McDaniels, so much more athleticism and length with that pairing, especially with a very unathletic Niang sharing that front court. Dedmon would be fine for time s when you need more size, Harrell feasts on weaker teams offensively and as an energy guy generally. Again that would take a coach who makes adjustments and spots matchup issues and opportunities to really work.

Will there be another addition? If so, who and who gets chopped?
