Game 68: 76ers at Cavs - Ides of March 7:30pm ET ESPN

Huge game if we're going to push for a top 2 seed. Maybe our toughest game left along with vs.BOS and @MIL near the end.
Cavs have the best NetRTG in the league ahead of #2 Boston and us at #3. They're also 28-7 at home. In our favor they're on a B2B but won easily last night @ CHA.
A win gets us within a half-game of BOS for the #2 seed, while they play at MIN tonight. Also keeps us 3 back in the loss column vs. MIL for an outside shot at the #1 seed.

TBH i think this game is more important to consolidate the third seed than trying to climb on the standings.
They have one of the best home records on the league and destroyed us last time we played there. Time to show how much better than the last time we are.

I don't think they have any chance of catching us for the #3 seed. We're currently 5 games ahead in the loss column. But yes we'll really bury them with a win as it puts us up 6 games in the loss column with the tiebreaker.
Also Jarrett Allen is out so I expect they'll go small with only 1 big - Evan Mobley. Once Jo gets him into foul trouble they'll be in trouble.
For us Jalen McDaniels is out.

At this stage in the game unless Boston and the Bucks fall off a cliff I don't care about seeding. I just want a win. In order for this team to do anything worthwhile in the playoffs they will have to beat good teams on the road. So it is what it is. Win and let the chips/seeding fall where they may.

We are focusing too much on the east, but winning is also important for the very unlikely Sixers-Nuggets final scenario.

How can we be focusing too much on the east? The east is where we live and play (basketball wise), The west is basically irrelevant at this point, unless we make it to the the NBA finals.

I mean in response to not worrying that much about standings, it's important to be ahead of Nuggets, as they are the best home team in the NBA. Of course it's important to be ahead of Celtics in the east too.

It's irrelevant because the 76ers may not make it to the Finals and the Nuggets WON'T make it to the Finals.

Who is going to make it out of the West? I could give a rock solid argument for why any of the top teams won’t make it, but as far as I know, someone needs to qualify

Happy birthday Joel! 29 years old! Dominate today, and bring this team home to the promised land.
Let's get it!

This is an important one, but by no means our toughest game. That would be Milwaukee, Boston, Nuggets, Suns and then Warriors in order of difficulty. Hell even the Nets could be a challenge.

Cavs have the shifty guard types who can get hot from deep off the dribble...which we struggle with. Its on ESPN....which we also tend to struggle with. And the vibes are too good right now.
I expect pain

Nuggets, merely because they have HC advantage against all west teams, and Nuggets are the best home team in the league, but they have in fact a slightly negative record on the road, that's why it's crucial for any team that wants to beat them to go get HC advantage.

Why does Harden turn into an NPC when he’s more the 5 feet from the ball? It happens on both sides of the ball it’s bizarre lol
